It can definately be sticky if you use too much. Don't go by the instructions which say to spray a liberal amount on your hair. Use the product more sparingly and it will work wonders. For example: I have long thin hair down to my shoulder blades. I use only 5 squirts of product, 2 on the front/crown area and 3 in the back. When I tried using more than that my hair was too sticky to even get a brush through.

I have problems in the grocery store in the cleaning products aisle, and can't wear most perfumes, scented soap, etc. I've been using this product for years have never had a problem. I just sprayed and sniffed it does have a scent, very lite and clean, honestly never noticed it was scented but wanted to double check before I wrote this. If you can tolerate lines like Clean and Philosophy, two scents I can wear this should be OK. If the scent lingered or stayed in my hair I'd have noticed it I can smell things no one else can. This product is so great I'd give it a try!

I tried it on damp hair (as it says to), but it did nothing but make my hair dull looking and I have naturally very shiny hair.

You spray this at the roots as well as overall ... applying it to damp hair. I have applied it at the beginning if it's been up in a towel and not overly wet or dry it a little and then apply it to your hair. But no, this is not designed to apply to dry hair. This is a styling product and in no way a holding or hairspray type product.

Instructions say to use on wet hair but prior to reading that, I put it on dry hair and liked the results as well.

This isn't a hair spray, but if you're like me you won't need hair spray if you use this. I like the natural look and feel of this better than hair spray. It's more subtle.

I have not tried it on dry hair; instructions are for use on damp hair.

I'd say you'd have to apply this product once a day.
