Questions & Answers for REN Micro Polish Cleanser

Question
Does this product come sealed?
Mine came open and the bottle is tinted orange in certain areas, so I'm worried it might have been tampered with... I don't mind the bottle being strangely colored, but if this is supposed to come sealed, I'll return before testing. Thanks!

Thanks for everyone's help. I ended up returning the product. The container had been tinted orange for some reason, and I didn't feel comfortable using it, even though the packaging didn't come sealed. Sephora was very kind about replacing the product and gave me no trouble. To clear up any confusion, I used the word bottle, but I meant tube. My packaging looked like what is shown as the product image here, on Sephora.com. Thanks!

I don't think we're talking about the same product. This comes in a tube (not a bottle) and it does not have a strong color. Sounds a little fishy to me.

Mine did not come sealed. I was so excited about using it, I didn't think about it. Whoops! Oh and mine is tinted in places as well. REN just did a horrible job packaging this product. There's too much air in it!

Mine was not sealed when I purchased it. It had a lot of air in it that kept my tube from discoloring. After I used it and all the air came out, the tube did start to discolor. I don't mind the discoloration of the tube because the product is amazing! I hope this helps!

If you don't have sensitive skin you can use it daily. Just make sure you are GENTLE with your fingers. Don't use pressure while scrubbing. I can use it for 3 nights and then I'll take a day off. Then I'll repeat the process.

Yes, I've been using it daily since I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I have sensitive skin and it hasn't caused any irritation. I only use it once a day though (in the morning). I use a different cleanser at night that is not a scrub. REN doesn't recommend using it more than 2-3 times a week though, FYI.

NOTHING with beads/granules should EVER be used with the Clarisonic! They can get trapped inside the base & cause it to break down. Use the clarisonic on alternating nights, or with plain water after you use the polish cleanser. ideally the clarisonic should only be used 2-3x a week.

Not at all. This is gentle and Micro beads does not have harsh edges to scratch your skin like Apricot Scrub. Gentle Orange essence cleans and does not leave you dry skin.

I have a bit of blackheads and tend to get bad breakouts sometimes and I do t think this helps that, I think this just takes off dead skin and can maybe preven more clogged pores but did not really take away black heads just makes skin smoother by removing dead skin.

Yes! I have mild acne too and sometimes even get scars. This helped me so much, it took about a month but cleared up my face a lot and made it smoother. Also unclogged my pores and minimized them. I use this along with REN's facial peel. Can be a bit drying sometimes though. Hope this helps =)

It's great for blackheads, congested skin, etc. For acne try the Clear Calm cleanser it uses lactic acid to exfoliate, and it's not grainy.

The skin feels clean after use, but not completely stripped. A light moisturizer is definitely needed, but I would not say that my face feels dry or tight after using the Micro Polish Cleanser.

The natural ingredients in this cleanser will not let leave your skin dehydrated after use. Your skin will be really clean, and you can use your choice of serums/and or moisturizers as usual and they will be even more effective. You can use this product w/your Clairsonic to get even more refined results. Everyone's skin is different though, so if your skin is really sensitive, go gently. You don't have to rub your skin aggressively for an exfoliator to work. The beads are doing that for you.

I have sensitive skin and it leaves my skin feeling slightly dry after use. Not the dramatic tight pull that some cleansers produce, just dry enough to feel the need to tone and moisturize soon after. It doesn't leave any oily or greasy residue behind like lots of other scrubs/cleansers, which is a plus, so it boils down to your skin's natural tendency towards dryness. If you're not too dry to begin with you probably won't feel extra dry after cleansing.

Question
Can this be used daily??
I have "Angela Bassett" skin tone and have older acne scars. Combo/ oily (more on the oily side) skin type and would love to lighten the scars not my skin tone just the ugly scars and feel refreshed. I have used Biotherm Hydrodetox for women then the men's
,when they discontinued the women's. Now they have discontinued the men's. I love the polishing/cream/clay type cleanser. I am sensitive to Salicylic Acid and need something new and great!

I have tan-olive skin and I have some dark marks that I've been trying to fade forever. I use this about 3x a week. My skin isn't sensitive, so it can handle it. I wouldn't suggest more than 3x per week because it might become TOO abrasive. And I always follow this up with a good moisturizer too.

If you've got sensitive skin (I do too) I wouldn't use this every day. The REN rep told me at most she uses it 4-5x a week, and I use it 3-4x. I feel like the more you use something on your face, the more your skin acclimates to it, and then it just stops working-so I try to use a regular cleanser on the off days.

Question
What is the difference between Micro Polish and Jojoba Microbead Polish?
What is the difference (cleansing/exfoliating) between Micro Polish and Jojoba Microbead Polish? Does one leave residue, cause breakouts, or perform better than the other? Anyone tried both and prefer one?

Well, I know that the exfoliating "agent" in this cleanser is amber beads that break down on the skin when you use it. Jojoba beads I assume would be the same thing, just with jojoba. I think if one of the two was more likely to cause breakouts it would be the jojoba beads because if I'm right they are more oil based. Don't quote me on that though.

answer 2
The jojoba bead polish uses spherical wax beads in a creamy cleanser to gently exfoliate the skin, and can be used daily. The micro polish cleanser uses amber to exfoliate and also contains alpa hydroxy acids to exfoliate...so it is a little more potent in the exfoliation arena and should be used 2-3 times a week.
