I use it after I straighten my hair and my hair still stays sleek

I would say that you should use it after straightening. it is meant to be sort of a pick-me-up for hair that's gone limp, so just straighten and then go. I wouldn't feel comfortable using it before straightening. Also be aware that this stuff goes ON ROOTS, not the actual hair shaft, and you shouldn't straighten your hair that close to your roots anyway, or you'll burn your scalp and fry your hair off.

No, this spray is only to be used to give one's roots volume.
