2 per day - It'll take a while before you notice results ( like watching paint dry?) A girlfriend of mine visited last week - she hadn't seen me for 5 months and she totally noticed a difference, which thrilled me. No side effects, totally natural. Bought them for my 70 year-old mom, too.

You are to take 2 supplements a day, preferably in the morning (I have mine with breakfast) I didn't notice any side affects at all. I've purchased 2 bottles & have noticed an immediate difference in how long & strong my nails become & slight hair growth after a month.

The product says to take 2 per day and I've never deviated from that.
Side effects? Not that I've noticed. I take many medical prescriptions and asked my Dr. of these vitamins would be a problem - but she thought they'd be fine and they have been - so my only side effect is better hair.

I only took these supplements for 30 days last summer and definitely noticed new hair growth (on my head) and unfortunately elsewhere. Thing is, it wasn't bad enough to outweigh the benefits. I mean, if you were really worried that your leg hair is growing faster, waxing may be an option...or just shave more often. Personally, I thought the healthier looking hair on my head was worth it. I stopped taking them because I didn't know if it was worth the cost. Now that I'm trying to grow my hair for my wedding in a year, I will be starting this supplement again!

I've not had the experience of having extra hair growth anywhere else. After wearing wigs and weaves for over 5years my hair became damaged, sides became bald and hair very weak. After utilizing the product for almost a year my hair is growing, no bald spots and thicker hair. Started seeing results after the first 90 days.

For the first six months or so that I was taking these, along with all the aforementioned benefits I experienced I did notice that I broke out much more easily on my face, due to increased oil production. However I have noticed since then that my complexion has gotten used to it or something and reached some sort of equilibrium. Now I'm breaking out at about the same rate as before I started, which I'm ironically quite happy about.

answer 2
I along with apparently a few of the other reviewers experienced an increase in the oil production on our faces, which could potentially cause breakouts. It's sort of a blessing in disguise for me because its forced me to be more diligent in taking care of my skin, which I was never all that good at. I have pale skin that shows every little zit and was already prone to breakouts to begin with, and have been taking these for nearly a year so I certainly feel it's worth the trade off.

The only negative side effect that I have noticed is that my eyebrows have grown in thicker. However, I have rather nice naturally shaped eyebrows to begin with, so the change has only been a minor annoyance. I haven't noticed any faster leg or body hair growth, and have been taking them for 20 days with good results- my slow growing hair has grown half an inch already! I feel that the numerous pros overwhelm the one con that I have discovered.

If you're really feeling unsure, you could always take the bottle back to Sephora and exchange it for a new one. That's what I would do, just to be safe.

Actually anything that has oil in it supplement wise goes rancid after a few months once the seal is broken, even if its in the fridge. I would not take it if the bottle has been opened (one whif and you will know) Worked in the supplement industry.

Vitamins containing Omega 3&6, Vitamins B and C, and Vitamin A usually expire after 3 years on shelf life. So I would not see a problem in using it. As long as the bottle is not tampered with, you'll be fine.

Question
Hydrogenated Soybean Oil
This ingredient is trans fat and NOT essential. There are a lot of health risks in consuming this.
But I'd really like to strengthen my hair and nails and this seems to work for most people. So what I want to know is if the amount of soybean oil in this is actually harmful?

You most certainly can overdose on certain vitamins. While some vitamins, C for example, generally leave your system via your urine if you take too much, some vitamins stay in your system longer and do not flush out easily. So if you have a balanced diet (most of us fall short, but some of us eat very well!) or if you are on other supplements, or have ANY medical condition of any kind, check with your doctor first. To say that you can't overdose is actually quite irresponsible. It's unlikely to cause most of us harm, but why take that chance when it does happen to people every day. This product is likely quite safe unless you overdo it or have too much of certain vitamins or minerals already in your diet.

answer 2
Actually, YES you CAN overdose on vitamins. Taking too many vitamins has been medically proved to have terrible chronic side effects, such as propioception, which is when a person has the feeling their body "does not belong to them". Basically, this is a TERRIBLE disorder where you have absolutely no control over your body and no sense of your limbs "belonging" to you. Do not take more than the recommended amount of this supplement.

answer 3
The statement that you cannot overdose on vitamins is categorically untrue. You can, indeed, overdose on certain vitamins and should take great care when taking several different supplements.

Please do research and talk with your doctor before adding another vitamin to your regimen.

No This is definitely not harmful. It's all natural, and you can never "overdose" from vitamins. It passes through you if your body has utilized the maximum it needs.

How does this compare to Biotin 5000?
I have yet to try either this product or Biotin, but my friend uses Biotin and loves it, plus I have seen her results myself. I was wondering if anyone has tried both and would have a better comparison of the two products? Thanks!

Honestly I tried these and they were good but not great. For the price you are better off just using biotin. Make sure to drink lots of water while taking biotin. I take Biotin with silica gel everyday and my hair is unbelieveably long, nails are strong and my skin looks amazing.

I bought Biotin for my thinning hair and nails-have not tried it yet-
I will soon be ending my present regime-I heard very good things about biotin-The pytophanere supplement seems to be alright-
but I have not achieved amazing results-will finish my new large bottle and if the difference is not substantial I will go to biotin.

Try this product. It has biotin in it that's what helps the hair growth. That's specifically why I bought it and with sephoras excellent return policy it's a no brainer. Give it 4-6 weeks though. I seen my results in six weeks. I also supplemented with the shampoo for thinning hair and brown glass bottle serum for thinning and pregnancy hair loss, fatigue. I am so very happy with my results. Hope this helps

I too lost much of my hair due to illness but I got sick of buying this because it is incomplete and expensive! I started taking Hair, Skin, and Nails (from Vitacost) and it made a hug difference in about 6 months...HUGE! I also want to make it clear that I am not advertising this product but it is amazing and I tell everyone! It also helped that its only 8-9 bucks a bottle.

Honestly I wouldn't use this particular product to try and grow your hair back. There is a product by the Nioxin brand called Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex that is a hair supplement and it has twice or sometimes triple the vitamins/amino acids as Phytophanere. The Nioxin vitamins are going to work a lot faster. I have the Phytophanere product too and saw no results, and I haven't even gone through chemo.

Actually, YES YOU CAN!! I take 2 (sometimes 3 when I want my hair extra shiny) capsules along with MD Perricone's Omega 3 Fish Oil capsules. Now Periccone Omega 3s are HIGH QUALITY, unlike many other omega 3 supplements out there, and I NEVER had a breakout. In fact, my skin on my face has improved (clarity etc) AND skin all over my body GLOWS.

So moral of the story, YES, yo can take phyto with HIGH QUALITY Omega 3s (i.e Perricone) but make sure to not exceed 3 figh oil capsules with 2 (or 3 of phyto's) and enjoy the added benefits :)

Yes, but don't take it at the same time. Take the phyto in the morning and the fish oil with your other meals. You don't need to take to much fish oil because the phyto already has omega 3. Just take on less pill that's is reconmended to save your money. That is exactly what I do.
