Question
How dominant is the vanilla scent in this body butter?
I am not a big Vanilla fan. Unless it's enveloped w/ another scent. Thank you!

The vanilla scent is very light and is not overpowering. It has a sweet fragrance to it and delivers lots of moisture to the skin.

answer 2
I actually can not smell the vanilla in this at all, it is a very apricot fruity scent. I don't think you'd have anything to worry about, the vanilla is so muted that the apricot is all I smell. But if you absolutly hated vanilla I'd stick with the citrus one just in case.

I have tried the vanilla and the sweet citrus. The vanilla was a little too overwhelming, a little too cutesy.
The sweet citrus is calming and subtle, a very good choice

the vanilla is very subdued, the apricot note is dominant and the combination overall is clean, soft , fresh and not at all overpowering. I think it's a subtle backdrop for layering on your fragrance.

I feel the same way about vanilla-scented products...not a big fan. However, it's the apricot that is the more dominant scent in this body butter. And since I'm a big "fruity" scent kind of person, I love the smell! Not too heavy, not too wimpy...just right!

You're not gonna smell like a Jello Pudding Pop - thanks to the sweet apritcot notes - but it's definitely a confectionary scent. If you're interested, though, men love it!

When I have ordered these argan oil body butters from Josie Maran's own website fall 2010 and this past spring, they did have seals. However, I just ordered three from Sephora within the past week and they did not have seals. So, I guess either Sephora in general does not have seals on these body butters or Josie Maran's company is no longer sealing them. I hope this helped.

It is a bit thick to use on your face, but the other argan oil products of Josie's work great as a moisturizer. Specifically, using just the oil after I washed my face at night helped seal the moisture.

I personally would not use it on the face. It is a very thick and slightly oily lotion. It is great on the body, but as for the face, I feel like it would make it unnecessarily oily and may cause breakouts if you are prone to them.

The balm is much, much richer and imo much better. It has a slightly natural nutty scent from the oil it's made with. BUT - the balm probably isn't good for large areas as it's very dense and pricey, so it's best for spot treatment like on elbows, hands and feet or wherever your driest areas are. I personally don't find the body butter to be hydrating enough but it works for a lot of people. Get samples of both!

The Argan Balm has a waxy texture. I use it a lot and think it's a great product as a lip and cuticle moisturizer, or swipe it on an especially dry patch of skin such as an elbow. But...its waxy texture doesn't really lend itself to be an overall moisturizer like a lotion or body butter would.

There is a light shimmer for about ten minutes, then as it is absorbed into skin, the shimmer fades but one is most definitely left with the hydration and moisture this product delivers. No long term illuminizer, for that use her other product designed for that.

I consider myself to have sensitive skin and while this product didn't help with any issues other than hydration, I did not experience any burning or itching after applying this body butter. The product is ultra hydrating with just a hint of fragrance that doesn't overpower, but lingers solely for the benefit of the individual's body to which it is applied.

Question
Metallic smell?
I just received this lovely lotion today. It is everything that all the other reviewers have said - so airy and soft, absolutely dreamy on the skin BUT to me it has a very odd almost metallic smell after it is applied to skin. I normally am not an ultra sensitive smeller so this is really baffling me. Anyone have the same reaction or maybe its gone rancid? Would love to continue using it but don't know if I can stomache the smell. I bought the Apricot Vanilla.
