Loose Powder

Translucent and extraordinarily lightweight, Nars Loose Powder sets makeup and creates a more natural finish. The enclosed powder puff can be used for medium to full application. For lighter coverage a loose powder brush is preferable.

Questions & Answers for NARS Loose Powder

Question
Is it really 16 oz?
16 oz seems huge for me. LM loose powder is 1 oz for the same price. I am wondering whether Nars loose powder comes with just 1.6 oz, not 16 oz.

It is 1.60oz! Still, this is HUGE. I just purchased this for the first time and I am looking at it right now. :)

1.6 oz-I have the LM right now and the Nars was just slightly larger. I think that must be a misprint! Hope this helps!

Question
Color choice.
I use Beach pressed powder for touch ups and was wondering if the loose powder was the exact same color. I have light colored skin with yellow undertones and didn't know if Eden would be a better choice. The colors don't look the same on the site from product to product.

It is never good to buy makeup just from looking at a picture online. You can never figure how it is adjusted to the web designer's monitor, as your coloring and contrast may be different. Go to the Sephora store or any counter where it is sold in department stores, and get the right color for you there.

Question
How does this compare with Laura Mercier?
Thus far Laura Mercier loose powder has been the best I've found. Just wondering if anyone has tried both and how they compare. I certainly like the Nars oil free foundation better than LM.

I used Laura Mericer power first and liked it well enough; then I tried Nars and I think I prefer it. The powder container is also larger and easier to use to get the powder on the kabuki brush. readkitty

Yes the loose powder gives more coverage than the pressed. You control how much you need and if you like a lighter coverage just use a powder brush.

Which powder?
I've been using Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish powder and I really like it but I'm always looking out for other products out there. Has anyone used both of these powders? Which one do you think is better?

I have Laura Mercier right now. (Translucent) I like it. The Nars is very messy as it is not a screw on container and I have heard that the Makeup Forever can be kind of whitish. The LM does not have a fragrance, but the Nars does. Hope this helps!

Question
Effect in Pore size?
How effective is this powder in order to reduce pore size and give that 'airbrushed' effect? ive tried it on my hands and noticed it has a very mild and very natural shimmer, more like a glow, like natural skin looks when is fresh and 'happy', which i really like, but im concerned that every time i use something with the slightest amount of shimmer will make my pores huge...

I think any loose powder is very effective in minimizing pores. This Nars loose powder also has light reflecting pigments to give you that fresh--goodnight-sleep look. I too have a few larger pores than I once did and this powder sure helps to minimize their appearance.
