I'm white but have extremely dry thick hair. Would this jive with my hair or is it better for black people?
I dont want it to make my scalp oily and itchyor any other side effects it might have. But i do want to add oil to my hair.

I am Caucasian and highly recommend this product to people who have a similar hair type to mine. There is a noticeable difference in the feel of my hair after using this product and the mask has thoroughly helped in strengthening my hair so I could grow it out.

It does not make my hair oily. I apply all over but I mostly focus on my ends, so there is product near my scalp but not nearly as much as my ends. Also, I have had no problems with this mask causing adverse effects on my scalp

I have long thick dark brown hair and it works great. Only leave it on for 5-10 min. do not leave it on overnight as mentioned in a previous post.

I have thick white girl hair that is currently bleached and haven't had any problems with it weighing my hair down or making it greasy. It works nicely for dry hair. If you are concerned about it, just don't put it on your scalp. Be careful sleeping with it on if you scalp is at all sensitive. I had some burning after about 8 hours.

hmm...your hair is dry and thick? and your looking for a better way to keep you hair moist? well, i guess if i were you i would try it. whats the harm in using it? im sure there's nothing in this product that will cause major damage if any to you hair.and i would say that this product is geared more towards black people, but thats only because most black people have thick/coarse hair, but really if you do have thick hair, then maybe it will work! :) if you find that your hair gets too greasy from using this product then i would just wash it out.and if you find that you don't like this product, and still need something to keep you hair not dry, just buy some natural oils! :) get some coconut oil, olive oil, or carrot oil! something like that should help! :)

I don't think Sephora would sell it if white people couldn't use it. All of the CD products I've tried in the past have been rather greasy, but it hasn't stopped some of them from being effective. Your best bet is to ask for a sample in-store to see if it works for you.

I would only use this mask for curly, thick hair types for women of all races. I think for fine, limp hair this mask would weigh it down. For fine limp hair, try Alterna Caviar line and anything by Phyto.

Hi everyone. I have heard alot of good things about this brand and want to give it a try. My hair dilemna is that I'm a natural brunette, but I dye my hair CONSTANTLY usually bouncing between red head and blonde. I am currently blonde and although I been getting trims, my hair ends are shameful. Would this be good for that kind of damage? Or anything else in this line? My hair is naturally straight, but really damaged from overcoloring. Thanks!

i've been between blond and red hair this last year too, and i guess you should get a product really specific for color treated/damaged hair, this alone will only get it soft and with a nice smell, but your hair might still look damaged after a while...

I color my hair and have always had damaged hair. This line truly is amazing. I dye my hair red now but have been bleached blonde before. I wish that this product was around when I was blond. Try the hair milk as a leave in conditioner (even though it says for curly hair)

From what I learned health wise you should only dye your hair within four shades of its natural color. It can cause some serious damage when you dye your hair to far away from its natural state. But I chemically treat my hair and it seemed to help me. I suggest you buy the small monoi repairing pack, which comes with the mask, conditioner, and shampoo. See how it works on your hair.

I would recommend getting Aussies deep conditioner. It's so much cheaper and works just as good if not better. But to answer your question, it would help to fix your problem so if you want to try it then go for it.

It makes bleached hair softer and I could actually get a comb through my hair afterward! The girls in the store who recommended it had very bleached out hair and they loved it. In time it should repair your hair asong as you are doing what you can to prevent further damage (hello heat styling!). For the money you might prefer one of the phyto combination sets ($25) or argon hair mask at a discount beauty supply.

I straighten my naturally curly hair, color it and use a flat iron so my ends are pretty trashed too. My hairdresser makes me deep condition once a week by sleeping overnight with condition in my hair. Not sure Monoi is helping more than any other conditioner but deep conditioning weekly does help.

There are directions on the package. There is a sticker on the bottom and you have to peel it to reveal the directions.

"Massage gently into your clean, wet hair, giving a little extra love to your frazzled ends. Leave the treatment mask on for 5 to 7 minutes and then rinse well. Or, for an even deeper treatment, put on a plastic cap and sit under a dryer for 10-15 minutes.

I wouldn't use it everyday because it's an intense conditioner, which usually makes your hair fall out. I have thin hair and I use this once a week. If you have thick hair, it might be alright to use it every 2 or 3 times a week.

Also, I use this with a shower cap while I'm showering with hot water. The cap traps heat that opens hair follicles. This way you could use less product and your hair could benefit the most from the conditioner.

Judging by the directions on the sticker on the bottom of the package, I would say you can put it all over or just the ends. I put it all over my hair but focus most of the product on the ends to prevent breakage since that is the intent of the mask. It also might depend on your hair quality. Do you have a really oily scalp? Then you may not want to apply the mask from root to tip and just end up applying it to the tips.

I washed my hair normally when I first got in the shower and then used this mask and put my hair in a shower cap. Then I did the rest of my shower and rinsed it out at the end. That seemed to work really well.

This hair mask can be used as a deep treatment without conditioner after you shampoo. It is perfectly fine to shampoo & rinse and then use the hair mask because it is also conditioning and you can skip the conditioner step when using this. You can also do both but I feel that there is no need since after I rinse the hair mask, it feels conditioned and soft, but don't use the hair mask in place of your conditioner as this shouldn't be used as often and your regular conditioner.

Carol's Daughter products in general are based on hair condition and not ethnicity. I did not find this product helpful with my hair but I do not believe that me being Scandinavian has anything to do with it--just some products work and some don't. I didn't try this on dry hair (as opposed to wet) if that's the question. But, if you mean that your hair itself is dry (like damaged) then that I can answer. I'm white but I have fairly coarse, dry, curly hair - in trying to straighten it I had burned some short pieces in the bangs area. The first time I used this product those burned pieces looked normal and healthy. And, despite it seeming heavy when you apply it, it rinsed out easily and my hair wasn't weighed down.

I have been perm free for 8 years and it does not make your hair nappy. It detangles very well. However, I also use Wen cleansing conditioner as well and that also detangles and keeps my hair managable. People always think that I have a weave in because of how long and healthy my hair is. Absolutely! The biggest issue of most products using after any type of straightening treatment is that they have too high of a pH - that comes from all the chemicals most brands put in them. Natural-based products like this can't possibly have a high pH so you're safe. Also, I think the shampoo they have with this is Sulfate-Free which is also extra gently and safe after chemical straightening.
