Hi there! I'm on the fair skin side but also can pass for light thanks to self tanner & have been using this Tarte product since it first launched a couple years back. In my opinion, as long as you don't over apply the product, it won't make you look orange. I watched Maureen Kelly (sp?), the creator of Tarte demonstrate the product on a shopping network. She advised to administer a tiny bit (about 1/8th of a dime) into the lid, swirl, tap, & then buff on with a fluffy brush. The bronzer is buildable. I would suggest starting with a small amount & reapply as needed. Please be careful around your hairline & blend well as all bronzers, in my opinion, seem to end up over-applied in that area. Have you tried the Too Faced Primed & Poreless Matte Bronzer? I just ordered it after reading numerous 5 star reviews indicating it was the perfect bronzer for fair to light skin. The medium skin toned women still gave it 4 stars but commented it was too, light for their coloring. Good luck to you :-)

I have quite pale skin, during the summer it works well as a finishing powder and a bronzer, but sadly as soon as fall arrives it's to dark.

I recommend mixing the bronzing powder w/ the white powder. the white was too white for me too, but the bronze is too dark on its own.

I have thin, pale skin, and I use this product as you described. With just a light dusting, it leaves a warm finish. With more product, it will look darker, so I occassionally use it as a natural-looking bronzer. I am very pleased with this product.
Hi there lisalmu! It looks like you have found the perfect product for your fair skin! smooth operator micronized clay finishing powder in bronze is formulated to work on all skintones with its sheer, buildable formula. When applied with a fluffy powder brush, it will not only set whatever product you have beneath it (foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer, or even just a primer or moisturizer), but also give you a gorgeous healthy glow with the added benefit of Vitamin C, which fights free radical damage and prevents premature signs of aging. The product is also buildable, meaning that if you wanted to use it to contour or bronze the highpoints of your face such as the bridge of your nose and your cheekbones, you could with a blush or bronzer brush. The matte finish ensures that it looks natural and never orange, and its 12-hour wear time means you won’t have to reapply and will continue to glow long after the sun sets. Let me know if you have any more questions about the product and I’d be happy to answer them.

It's not orangey but I'm medium toned and it's way too dark for me. My son said "you look like a brownie".
