Melt Down Makeup Remover

Melt Down Makeup Remover

What it is:A nourishing and effective makeup remover. What it does:This makeup remover can take off Urban Decay's longest-lasting products, and it's good for your skin too. Sea Fan Extract combats inflammation, while beta carotene (a source of Vitamin A) and Gatuline In-Tense (harvested from the South African Rain Forest Peekabo plant) revitalize collagen production. Cranberry and raspberry seed oils, along with kukui nut and oat oil, moisturize and replenish. The squeeze tube is easy to use and small enough to take on an airplane. What else you need to know: This gel is non-greasy so you don't have to wash off any residue after you use it, and the light fragrance is uplifting but never obtrusive.

Questions & Answers for Urban Decay Melt Down Makeup Remover

What does it smell like?
I'm very interested in a good remover which is gentle and non-oily. So, I'm thinking about trying this product. One of the reviews described it as "stinky," however. Since stinkiness is really in the nose of the smeller, I'm hoping someone can tell me what it smells like? Roses? Olive oil? Rancid nuts? Oven cleaner? But seriously, this would be very helpful. Also, a note about how strong the scent is would be nice.

You're right, the smell is in the nose of the you can stand the smell of depilatory products, then you'll be okay with this one. A whole lot milder than depilatory creams but definitely no Chanel :)

It doesn't have a distinct scent and whatever it does have isn't strong. I'm sensitive to just about any highly scented products and it didn't give me a raging headache, if that helps.

As for those who say it's greasy--of course it is! It's melting *waterproof* make-up. I dare them to find a waterproof eye make-up remover that works and isn't greasy. Further, you can always wash your face afterward so there isn't a residue.

It's not a gel (like it says it is), it's a cream and it leaves a disgusting residue on your skin after using it. I did not like it at all and will be returning it shortly. Don't waste your money!

It has a VERY light scent of sunflowers when I smell it but I imagine that's because it has sunflower oil in it... just guessing though.

I really didn't find a problem with the scent at all. Quite bland actually. Maybe the person got a rancid tube or something.
I just left a review about this product and to be truthful, I really liked it but, it's small and so expensive.
It's not greasy and really nice but wasn't worth the buck.
If you want something really great, try soap and glory's off your face gwipes. They are inexpensive and don't test on animals, like UD.
They are also non greasy and one wipe does an incredible job.
Good luck and I hope I helped you out!

Funny that it should be thought of as "stinky"...I am very susceptible to smells and bad smells really annoy me, but I don't remember an issue with this. I did return it, though, because it does not remove the Urban Decay waterproof mascara and that's why I bought it.

If you're looking for a makeup remover that easily takes off your makeup without scrubbing, this is it! I was extremely surprised and delighted to see its abilities in action on my first encounter with it. The smell isn't over powering and a little bit goes a long ways! It takes off waterproof makeup easily!

To me, it just smells like regular face lotion/cream. It doesn't seem to have a distinct scent, but again that's just me. Smell is such a difficult sense to describe, it's unique to each individual.

Thanks! That's very helpful and also good to know that you don't have to rub too hard to make it work well. I will try to get to a Sephora and sample it.

I didn't notice any smearing of my contact lenses when I used it, although I didn't rub very vigorously when I removed my make-up with them in.

How does this compare to Clean & Sober?
I've been using the Clean & Sober makeup remover for years, and I love it. Is this remover as good as Clean & Sober? What are some differences (if any)?

I personally LOVED Clean & Sober and I hate this. C&S was a gel while this is more of a watery lotion. C&S was also very gentle, this is way more harsh and made my eyes burn. C&S made my make up easy to wipe off, Melt Down not only did not dissolve my make up, but made it messy and run all over the place. It was extremely messy and I ended up having to wash my face to get MD off my face, MD also left my face very sticky. C&S, I would just take off my make up and throw some moisturizer on, and be done. The smell is also not my fave. I ended up switching to clinique's eye make up removed and Sephora's face wipes.
