Questions & Answers for ALTERNA Bamboo Volume Weightless Whipped Mousse

Question
Compare to Living Proof
Has anyone tried this product in addition to the Living Proof thickening mousse? I've been using LP for quite some time for the length of my hair (long to middle back) and have good results. But I use another mousse for my roots. I think Alterna might be "healthier" for the hair and it sounds like I won't need a separate mousse for the roots. Any thoughts? I have fine, thin hair.

I've use both products for my fine/thin hair and find the Alterna to be far superior. My hair feels much more volumunous than with any LP products.

You can try this product but, I think you may find it hard to brush through your hair. I have very fine short hair and this product made my hair very hard to manage. Trying to get a small round brush was sorta tough. I my self now use Vavoom mouse by Matrix. Works great~!

I've never used Living Proof mousse but I've tried their thickening
cream, which I didn't like at all. I found the LP products to be a bit
heavy for fine hair (which I have also). I think you'd have good
luck with the Alterna and wouldn't have to use two products.
It might be worth trying!

Living Proff made my hair gummy and it had no shine or hold. I LOVE this mousse, my hair is mid back, color treated and thick this gives me volume, hold and shine and my hair has never looked or felt healthier. Alterna blows LP products out of the water, its great stuff.

Question
Used with fine curly hair?
Hello all,
I have fine and curly hait that I do not blowdry in the morning; I just let it dry in the air and I have nice curls. Now my favorite mousse isn't available anymore and I already ise Alterna shampoo. Does anyone with natural curls have used this mousse? Thanks all!

I have the same hair lol! I do the same on school mornings when I don't have time but I blow dry my bangs and root with my fingers really quick (so it's not fully dry). I still get the same amount lift as if i had blown out my hair which is a lot by the way! Overall lovely product and well worth the purchase in my opinion :)

I use this and have wavy hair. I don't think you could use it without blowdrying.

Question
How is it with thin hair and a curling iron?
I have fine, wavy hair that's rather easy to manage, but its thinness makes for terrible volume and it looking rather limp when I take a curling iron to it. How is this mousse with thin hair? I have to be really careful about what I put into my hair because it gets so easily weighed down by product. If this isn't good for thin hair, what does anyone recommend?

I have fine/thin hair, and I find this does not weigh my hair down at all. If I curl it, there is definitely some bounce to it.

Air dry is fine, but I find that it applies best to damp hair if you are truly using it to 1) lift and 2) make you go longer between washes/less oily at the scalp

Either way... Most days I let my hair air-dry (it's naturally wavy) and the mousse will give it that semi-scrunched look -- but if I blow dry it adds a lot of volume .. Very versatile !

Can this be used as heat protectant?
Can this be used as a heat protectant before blowdrying or flat ironing? I want to make this product the only thing I use so I have less buildup.

Question
Is this what used to come in the purple container--amplifying mousse?
I love this stuff, but the container always comes damaged. I sent one back and the other one I got was still damaged. The plastic top came off in shipping, and so the spray nozzle was always broken. Do they not make it anymore or is this the same thing?

Question
Does this work on fairly course and thick hair that tends to go flat?
I am fully of Chinese decent. At least one hairdresser has said I have thick hair, but it's not the thickest I know of and it too often looks flat around my head.
