Questions & Answers for SEPHORA COLLECTION Super Nourishing Lip Balm

Question
Is there mint, or is there a "tingling" feeling to it?
I used to use the Sephora's Tricks of the Trade Professional Lip Balm, which had a tingly, minty feel to it. Is this similar to that?

There is no tingly feeling with this. Just the ultra-smooth, hydrated feel of your lips after you apply. I definitely recommend.

There is no tingling sensation. It is more similar to a chap stick I think. It is moisturizing, helps protect, and condition lips. It has a nice vanilla scent, but there is definitely no tingling.

In response to shochachu (sorry if I botched it, I can't see the user name right now) above, it isn't scentless -- there's a slight vanilla scent.

The Sephora lip balm is great, I keep a tube in the fridge and apply it daily and it lasts for many uses, but no, I don't think it's at all comparable to the Fresh lip balm: the Sephora is untinted, scentless, and has no SPF. On the plus side, it seems to last longer on my lips, and doesn't leave the faint marks en-pillowcase of which the Fresh is sometimes guilty when I apply it for overnight relief.

I actually like this better than Fresh Sugar lip balm. Im such a product freak and try just about anything I can get my hands on. While I love Sugar, this hydrates better for bitter winter lips that are already terribly dried out. Sugar seems to not absorb as well in this dry weather, for me at least.

No, not even close. If you want a good lip-balm go with Sugar. Even though it is a bit pricey, it is definitely worth it if you want a good lip balm. (Honestly, I didn't like this balm, and would even say a drug-store lip balm might be better)

Question
I just ordered this && i was wondering.....
I ordered this four days ago, and sadly I have not received it in the mail yet. I've seen great reviews on it, saying how soft it makes your lips. The gusting winds this winter have made my lips sting alot, probably the first step in getting chapped lips ): . Does this lip balm sooth the stinging pain along with making them smooth? (:

Yes...it's smooth and light and works well. It does not, however, last as long as a thicker lip balm like Caudalie, but for $5 it does a good job!

It helps a little, but it doesn't seem to have anything in it (like carmex) that would help with the sting. BUT it really helps heal super fast. My lips were chapped, cracked, and just a plain hot mess... After using this, (applied several times during the day, and applied before bed) for ONE day, my lips did a complete 180... This stuff is sooooo worth it. ... If you want something to help with the sting, maybe get some regular, old school blistex, and apply this over it?

The shea butter and vitamin e DEFINITELY conditions your lips!
If you're planning on being in direct sunlight for long periods of time (perhaps a day at the beach) I would recommend something with a bit more SPF qualities. But for everyday lip treatment, this is PERFECT.

No, I hope not. It applies really shiny because it contains Shea butter and essential oils. It is not waxy at all. I would think that if you applied a lipstick over it, it would be a slick mess.

answer 6
I don't and it works perfectly. I think it would probably be a good base for a lipstick because it does help soften the lines in your lips, which would in turn make a lipstick last longer. I had really chapped and peeling lips and within a couple days noticed a difference without using any other products on my lips. Even if you don't have lipstick, this lip balm will make your lips look more supple, by supplying the needed moisture. Hope this helps!

Comparison to Caudalie Lip Conditioner?
I swear by the Caudalie balm, which is $12, but the main ingredients in this product look pretty similar (most importantly the shea butter). Anyone tried both?

I am a Caudalie lip girl, but I buy this for my young nephew who gets horrible chapped lips. This is much smoother and goes in easier. It works for him and I like it too. The reason I continue to use the Caudalie is that it lasts longer, and I use it at night before I go to bed, and it lasts through the night where the Sephora doesn't.

EOS dries up quicker and you need to apply it more. With the Sephora one, however, it stays moisturizing for a long time. The packaging is very different, too. EOS is an egg shape, inside and out. But the Sephora brand looks more like a lipstick.

Yes, I was lured in by the handy, cute packaging of the EOS lip balm. I used it for months without fully realizing that it was drying out my lips gradually. I once se this lip balm (sephora), it was a relief. My lips needed it. EOS is waxy and drying. Sephora lip balm is nourishing and, shiny, moisturizing goodness.

Similar to Complete Lip Balm?
For those that have tried SEPHORA COLLECTION's "Tricks of the Trade" Complete Lip Balm, would you say it is similar to this product?
