I just bought this device, and under the tanda zap logo it says 'tester' which I have not seen on any of the photos online.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention vivi2. We looked into this and it appears that a small number of our specially labeled "tester" devices were packaged for sale in error. These devices work exactly the same as the rest of our devices, they just have the special marking. Call us and we'll send you a free back-up device for being such a good sport! 1-877-651-1177 Ext. 233.

No, there are just lights in it and they work for about 1,000 times. After that I guess you just have to get a new one, but thats a lot of times. You do have to replace the battery a lot. If it stops quickly then you need to replace the battery.

From what I understand, this is good for 1,000 uses and then you throw it away and buy a new one. Considering most refill cartridges cost close to $50, this doesn't seem like a bad deal.

No. but you'll swear by Laura Mercier's Matte Translucent setting powder -it mattifies and controls oil production throughout the day.. basically you wont be shiny at 7 am when you first apply or at 4 pm without reapplying!

No, this only works on zits. You should use a good cleanser and toner and some blotting papers (Boscia makes good ones). There's a really good mattifying lotion by Cosmedicine and Make up Forever makes a great powder foundation for shiny skin. Good luck!

Hi seporateen,
The tända ZAP blue light treats acne by killing the P. Acnes bacteria but it can also reduce sebum (oil) production which could be contributing to the shine on your skin. If you want to address the overall shine on your face, the zap is a bit small and treatments will eat up battery life – Try the Tända Clear Acne Light Therapy Treatment

When during my skincare routine should I use Tanda Zap?

I wash, cleanse, tone and put on benzyl peroxide moisture lotion then I use the tool. I think that since the tool helps to open my pores it would help penetrate the medication into my pores to kill the bacteria.

You should wash your face before using your Tanda and you may also benefit more if you use an exfoliater also. Use Tanda zap after you wash your face because if you add toner, moisturizer, etc. it might block some of the light and the Tanda wouldn't be as effective. Also, if you put any sort of sunscreen on your face, it may block some of the light waves coming from the tanda. I use Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Lycopene toner after washing my face and then use my Tanda because it's more convenient in my regimen.

-Stead vibration and blue light = Device is delivering a treatment
-orange power button is blinking red for 10 sec after each treatment = batteries are running low.
-orange power button is a solid red for 10 sec after each treatment = the device has less than 50 treatment remaining.
-If device will not turn on and the power button is a solid red for 10 sec = The device is out of treatment & it is time to buy a new one.

Blinking red light means the batteries are low. Solid red for 10 seconds after treatment means less than 50 treatments left. Solid red and the device does not turn on means it is past 1000 treatments and you have to get a new one.

well it could mean 2 things, 1st you might need new batteries, if it is blinking and not runnung the full 2 miniutes then that is the case. 2nd if it is a consistant light and running the full 2 min that means it is 50 or less uses away from 1,000

Question
Does this work on Adult Pimples that do not surface?
My Dr recently told me the mysterious bumps I am getting lately that never seem to dissapear are "adult pimples"? They never surface so I cant ever pop them. He said they are really deep so he could extract them with some kind of gadget he has......
I was wondering if this Tanda would help bring them to the surface, or make them go away?
Help! I am 35.

answer 2
Blue light (420nm wavelength) kills acne, red light is supposed to "boost overall cellular energy, increasing our body’s natural production of collagen and elastin and increasing microcirculation." Supposedly blue light and red light together kills acne even more effectively than blue light alone. So no, you do not "need" both blue and red, blue works for 90% of people, but blue and red both is supposed to work even better.

Blue light kills acne forming bacteria. Red light increases the speed of your skin's healing process. Whether you need both probably depends on what you are prioritizing. The zap is a good place to start to see if light therapy works for you (it works for 90% of people). Now that I've used it and seen it work, I'm looking for a product with both forms of light.
