It is not heat activated however, Alterna recommends, "applying it evenly from root to tip through towel-dried hair and style as desired."

yes it does. It did work well on my naturally dry hair, but heating it worked better.

no, I usually wash my hair, put small amount in hands and rub through hair. Dry and style as usual or you can air dry.

I didn't use a blowdryer and it still made my hair raise away from my scalp with finger-drying. Can't wait to see what it does with a dryer!

no it doesn't need to be heat activated. At least I use it without blowdrying or straightening my hair, and it seems to work just fine

I always add this product before blow drying. I think it gives much more volume when heat activated.

answer 9
I don't think it's necessarily heat activated, but the directions say to blow dry after. To achieve optimal results with this product in terms of volume, you have to style your hair after.

Using a blow dryer gives you bigger hair but I have used it with out and still saw a difference. They recommend blow drying (at least part way dry).

ONE pump is all I need for my short hair. DO NOT OVERDUE IT! Too much will leave your hair lookiing flat and greasy. (some have used the word "gross".)

Dime size pump does the trick on my medium (just past my shoulders) length hair.

I use at least a teaspoon of product. I don't know if it protects when using heat appliances. I blow dry and then use a flat iron and I think my hair looks thicker and fuller.

I use about 4-5 pumps & work it through root to tip...my hair is shoulder length. It does not require heat activation. Not sure about the proctection from flat ironing but flat ironing does not take away or diminish the effects of the product.

answer 5
Hello! I use about 4-5 pumps of this product and work it in from root to tip. I find it works best when you blow dry your hair and I also flat iron after blowdrying and find that it doesnt diminish its effects but just "smoothes it out". Overall it makes my hair feel alot thicker and has more bounce. It doesnt have that crinkley effect or weighing down effect that I have experienced with other thickeners.

Question
Will it make my hair grow out thicker? Even after use?
I'm trying to find something that will make my thin, fine hair GROW OUT thicker, not just look thicker for a day or two. Something that I don't nessesarily have to use everyday. Does this product deliver those results?

This is a topical product. I don't believe it will make your hair grow out thicker. I would love to be able to recommend a food product that would help you, and for the most part would suggest that you avoid processed foods and foods with ingredients that you can't pronounce. I don't believe there are products that you apply to your hair that will affect its growth (other than those that make it fall out!).

No, this product does nothing to alter the growth pattern of your hair. It can, however make your hair look thicker. Check with your regular stylist first to see if your hair is the right match for what this product can do.

no im quite sure it doesn't. you really are only supposed to use it on the crown of your head so it wouldnt protect all of your hair, especially the ends where u need the most heat protection. Try dry bar hot toddy for heat protection, I just got it and I love it.

It doesn't claim to do that, but it also doesn't call for using something else with it before blowdrying. I didnt' use anything else before blowdrying and my hair felt soft after.
