Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion Tube - Sin
So I really want to purchase Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion Tube - Sin, but due to my sensitive eyes I am kind of nervous. I am worried this product may irritate my eyes. Its usually things like avon and the sephora line that have have caused this problem in the past. I am however, completely able to wear things like MAC, Covergirl, Gosh, Maybelline, etc. Anybody have any advice on the issue?

I have extremely sensitive skin and sensitive eyes and I wear contacts. This product has been fine for me so far and I've been using it about two weeks. It only takes a tiny dab to do the job. It's that good. If you're not sure if it will work for you, I'd say buy the smallest size available and give it a try. If it dosen't work, Sephora will always take it back. Good luck!

My eyes and skin get irritated by a lot of brands (especially lower end brands). I love Urban Decay in general, their products are really wonderful and are really friendly to my skin. You don't want to get any product into your eyes in general, but this product is really creamy and thick enough that once you put it on, it kind of dries a little bit and doesn't irritate your eyes at all. I haven't had any problems with any of Urban Decay's products. I swear by this primer and definitely recommend it.

But I've been using all of Urban Decays Primer Potions for about four years now and have never had an issue.

It kind of dries the oiliness. It doesn't make your skin dry, but it reduces the oiliness to prevent the oil in your skin from changing the quality/color of your eye products.

I have oily lids too, even though my skin overall is dry. What I do is I use a tissue paper and blot my lids gently before I apply the UD eye primer. They are all equally good. I never had any creasing, even if I use cream eye shadow. It holds it all in place for at least 12 hrs.

The Eden shade may be too light and yellowish for tan skin. It is designed as a color-corrective shade for those with reddish color on their lids. If you want a matte color maybe try the original or the new Sin color if you don't mind the shimmer.

I think it depends upon the level of tan you are talking about. This shade is terrific as a base shade, but I don't think it would look right on its own if you are very dark. You may end up looking like you left your goggles on while lying in the sun too long! LOL! But the quality is great (no creasing, shadow lasts until you take it off etc.) I would definitely try it.

Unless you plan to wear shadow over it, Eden will show up like a too-light-for-your-skin tone concealer would. I'm Asian, light to medium skin with yellow undertones and this showed up too light on my lids, I have to cover it up with my BB cream or eyeshadow after applying.

The primer blends well --- it's actually a darker tint than my skin tone, but evens out well. If you are primarily interested in buying this to even out your skin color around your eyes, it might be better to go in the store and find a hue more suitable for you. However, as an eyeshadow primer, this would work fine.

I would say that this color is NOT good for tan skin simply because it is quite tawny and because I consider myself to be very fair (I have red hair and freckles) and the color is still light on me. If your covering it completely with shadow you would be fine but I like to simply use it as a base.

answer 1
I apply with my fingertip all over the top of my lid. I purchased Eden, and I use it right up to my brow. It's a very neutral, light color. I have even used a smaller brush [or even my finger on lazy days] to apply underneath my lower lash line when I have a little extra time and it works wonderfully there also. I just do a few tiny dots underneath and blend it in. It holds forever!

I use my finger and I just put it on the lid and crease. When I do my makeup, any shadow above the crease is probably just shimmer anyway. I also get a little on the inner canthus of the eye (right by your nose, by your tear duct). This will brighten your eyes and make you look awake and refreshed. A dab of super light shadow here will work too.

I like to apply it with my fingers, I start with a drop on my ring finger and pat it against to opposite finger and warm up the product for an even application. Plus your ring finger is the weakest finger so when appying you wont stress the skin around your eye

answer 9
I do pat it with a finger on my lids (or with a small stiff brush on clients to be hygenic). I wouldn't use this matte formula under my eye. It might provide some coverage but because it is a matte formula it is a bit drying for most people to be able to use under their eyes. I have found that if you try to use it as an under eye concealer it tends to get caught in any fine lines you may not have known you had! But this is why its so great as an eyeshadow primer-if you tend to have oily lids this matte forumla absorbs that oil and your shadow won't go anywhere.

You don't have to put foundation under this primer, it works fine solo... That said, if you're a "foundation first" gal, I'd suggest putting your foundation on prior to Urban Decay's shadow primer, then, adding the shadow primer after that. The good news is you won't need browbone 'highlighter' shadow after using this. Gorgeous!

You can if you want to; however, it may not be necessary since the primer itself has pigment in it that can cover up any veins or darkness on your lid. But if you want to put foundation on your eyelids before the primer to even up your skin tone, the primer will work perfectly fine on top of it.
