This definitely reduces the need for a primer. This mattifies skin without making it dry. Great for combination skin!

It's not a primer, and it's not tinted, it's a moisturizer. However, it does extend my primer and foundation so that I use a lot less of it, and it goes on smoothly. I am using just Smashbox's bronzing primer right now, and my skin looks great with just there 2 products.

I wouldn't think so. It seems to work like a primer/moisturizer in one application.

Question
Does SPF sunscreen go under or over this?
I like this moisturizer but it contains no SPF. Does anyone use this as well as a separate sunscreen lotion? If so, which one do you apply first and which one goes on top?

Either is fine - I usually put sunscreen on last but if you are using this as a primer, use a sunscreen first.

I add the Shiseido Urban Environment Protection Cream, SPF 30++ AFTER this product. I figure this product nourishes so it goes on first. The SPF protects, so it goes on last. I only wait about 3-4 minutes before applying the SPF.

It goes over this. I use this at night and I use my moisturizer with SPF in the morning. SPF is needed to protect your skin against the sun.

answer 5
As you mentioned this product does not have any SPF to it. I use a separate sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) on top of this product. My dermatologist always recommends/reminds me to use one (SPF 30 or higher), even with products that contain a lower amount of SPF in it. Other moisturizers I've used in the past usually say a SPF-15 and I wear a separate sunscreen on top of it.

To use a separate sunscreen, put it on over your moisturizer, that way the moisturizer can absorb into your skin and do what it's supposed to do. If you put the sunscreen on first, the moisturizer has a barrier between your skin and can't do what it's supposed to.

I hope this makes sense.

It's NEVER too early to start taking good care of your skin. IF you have the money, I'd say sure, try it out because this moisturizer is good for young skin. However, you can find SO many other GREAT products that are way less expensive IF money is a concern.

I don't see why not, as long as it's reasonable for your budget. Try to use an SPF with it too, like the Shiseido one I mentioned in my post. I'm 27 and I used to tan all the time when I was your age. I have to get a chemical peel to get rid of damaged skin cells!

No, this product is not heavily-scented. It has a very light scent that I think smells like baby powder. But it is not overpowering at all. If you are very sensitive to smells, try going to your Sephora store and asking for a sample. If you don't have a store near you, Sephora has an excellent return policy. I would say to try it, and if you don't like it you can always return it. Hope this helps!

Question
Is this really a moisturizer or a serum?
I have a friend working for Dior in Taiwan. She told me this is actually a serum, not quite a moisturizer. She said even the official translation for this is "pore perfecting serum". And it should be used "AFTER" daily lotion, which I am really confused about (doesn't make any sense to me) She said this is somewhat like the Clinique Moisture surge which you use after all your other skincare products. But if this really works as a serum, wouldn't it be best to use it before lotion/cream? And if this isn't a moisturizer, we would need to know which serum to use first (my other Lancome serum is used for brightening and giving more even complexion) If they were used in the wrong order, then I would not get the benefits from one of them...

Not sure if this helps - but my derm. has me put my retinol product on after my lotion - it helps be less harsh on the skin and it absorbs better somehow. I used this as a lotion in the fall and it worked fine for me, but in the winter when I needed a more intense lotion it didn't work. What you are saying makes sense to me now. It actually made my skin itchy and irritated when it hadn't before.

Your question is great. I would say that this is a mattifying serum, just from having used it. If you have oily skin like I sometimes do, this would be more of a moisturizer, because adding anything else would give TOO MUCH moisture. And yes, serums should be added before a moisturizer/spf, so the woman at the Dior counter was incorrect.

This is a Moisturizor, so it needs to be applied EVERY time you wash your face -strip your face of its natural oils. Therefore you'll need to replenish it back with moisture. So this should usually be the last product to be applied to your face.
1.cleanser
2. toner (if you really nead it)
3. serum or corrective cream
4. moisturizure

It does have a "feel" to it as some corrective serums/creams leave, but it's moisturizing. So you may be adding 2 moisturizors to your face.

I think it depends on your skin type. I have oily/combination skin. I use it as a moisturizer and serum. I cleanse, tone, and then put this on, and then use my spf powder makeup. I find that this gives me the right amount of moisture that I need. I would try it alone and see how your skin does--if it feels dry, I would add a moisturizer. I'm not sure when I put the moisturizer on because this really does act as a great makeup primer so maybe after a moisturizer.

Any age! "Age-defying" or "restoring" products help to keep the skin looking youthful and fresh in the future. Many of these products have special proteins, enzymes, and vitamins that will help to keep skin looking younger for longer in the future. This particular product is for minimizing pores (although it's not that spectacular at that), but there is no age minimum for wanting pretty skin.

The information packet inside doesn't seem to list all the ingredients. It says it is made from plant extracts, specifically Jisten, Centella and Black Rose plant extracts.

I don't think they're going to give out the list of ingredients because that's intellectual property.

I can tell you that I have allergies and sensitive skin, and this product does not bother me. (When a product does bother me, I take 1 Zyrtec and the reaction is much less severe.)

If you buy it at Sephora and you have a reaction, you can always get your money back!

I don't have a list of ingredients, but my skin breaks out quite a bit and this stuff hasn't made me break out at all. I always had a problem trying to find a moisturizer that won't contribute to my skin breaking out. This stuff doesn't even feel like lotion. It's so light and it really does melt into your skin. I love it.

It absolutely reduced sebum on my face. In turn, the removal of that top layer of sebum made my pores more accessible - so all of my other skin care products became more effective. I was able to get rid of ALL my blackheads by using this product in combination with the Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads (PTR pads are *great* for oily skin - my boyfriend has very oily skin and it has cleared up tremendously).

I'm REALLY oily. I've been using for about a month now, and I see no reduction at all in oil production. However, I have seen a reduction in pores, and my skin is surprisingly more even toned and firm. Best part is that it hasn't broke me out at all. I wasn't going to buy it (I got it as a deluxe sample), but that is what I am here to do tonight. I really like it now that I have been using it for awhile, but if you are looking for oil reduction, forget it.
