Compared to Fekkai??

Hi, I have been gladly using Fekkai browns for the last year, but I can't help but wonder if this line of hair color is better than Fekkai given that it is ammonia-free?? Has anybody out there tried them both and can tell me the differences?

I used Fekkai all the time and gave this one a try. In my opinion, Fekkai is better because of lesser damage to hair. This one smells nicer but every time I shampoo the color bleeds and wet hair feels like rubber, seams even with conditioner on it is hard to comb through. Clor is not as pictured on the box but about a shde or two darker when Fekkai is true to picture.

I thought my hair felt smoother and softer after using this Luxeblend. It smells nice - maybe it is because it is ammonia free. The color lasts the same as the Fekkai. I'm impressed with this product. I will definitely use it again.

Fekkai was great! I used it twice. Couture Colour was awful. I'll never use it again, the color was way too intense and leached from my hair for at least 5 washes.

Fekkai color is SUPERIOR. I tried the Luxeblend and thought it was OK, not fabulous. They cost the same, so I'm going back to Fekkai. (Love the Fekkai shampoo & conditioners, too!)

Fekkai is much better. This washes out in 28 shampoos. The Fekkai is permanent. This color barely covered my grays (I'm about 25% gray) Simply put...I'm waiting about 2 more weeks for his junk to wash out & going back to Fekkai!

I used Fekkai, and i feel like this is very similar. Couture Color smells WAY better, and I love that it's ammonia free. You have two options of application with Couture Color, which is a nice feature. I think you'll be pleased with this. Color selections and results are comparable in my opinion. Good luck!

I have used Fekkai in the past and the color was MUCH darker than the color on the box (ie. light golden brown was closer to black). Fekkai also left the dyed hair with a coarse feeling even after a few washes. Couture Color left my hair soft and shiny and was closest to the color stated on the box.

How is this color in covering gray and will it lighten previously colored hair?

Unfortunately, I have salt & pepper hair. As I have aged I notice my roots (the ones that aren't gray!) are medium/dark brown. My hair is color treated.

My question is how is this on covering gray and if I choose medium brown (the dark looks really dark) will it lighten my previously colored dark brown ends?

First, I find this to be excellent coverage for gray. I was premature gray (really mostly white). I use the medium brown, although I find it a bit darker than most. Don't leave on longer than instructions unless you want dark brown.
Second, using a lighter brown will NOT lighten previously colored hair. This is true for any brown haircolor. Adding light brown to dark brown will make it even darker. Buy the kit from Sephora with the tray and brush that professionals use. Brush the color on the roots only. Then, at the very end, put it all over to freshen the ends. Just don't leave it on more than 5 minutes and you should be OK.

Medium brown is really more like dark brown, so I would say you will still be dark. I find it covers my gray very well, and I am mostly gray at this point>

Medium brown turned my hair jet black. It did cover up my grays, but was much darker than on the box. I even washed it out early!

It did really well covering my grey, no strands stand out as lighter or a different shade than the rest. I did keep the colour in for 35 mins as they suggested on the package for "Stobborn Grey" but next time I'll stick with 30mins and see if i notice any difference. I'm not sure about going lighter from darker, i always heard if you are going down in levels you need to see a colourist.

Yes, I love it! My gray is so tough to cover, this was amazing.
Like the package said best to have a fresh cut before, I didn't the end s a tad bit darker, no problem now I know where my bad ends are for a cut. Cannot wait to try anther color already!

LuxeBlend has great gray coverage, especially for an Ammonia-Free hair colour.
If you follow the directions for all over colour, you should get an even result, unless your ends are very recently coloured a much darker brown/black.

I read online that he is an LA hair stylist. Honestly I've never heard of him before and i didn't see a Hollywood client list attached to his name. Apparently his goal is to provide salon quality colour to everyone. This product is fantastic.

I colored my hair again after 5 weeks, and as of that time my grays had not reappeared. The color held fairly well overall, but faded just a bit. I guess it's relevant that I only shampoo my hair 2 times a week. Other days, I use Devacurl No-Poo, which is more like a conditioner but does cleanse too. When I do shampoo, I use Devacurl Low-Poo, which is way more gentle than other shampoos. That probably keeps the color in better.

I really liked this color because it does not have that red tone. I found it covered the gray very well. I would use just a small amount of the Pequi oil, especially on fine hair.

I would say you'll need two boxes. I have medium length hair, but very thick and one box usually is not enough. Also, it seems to be out of stock all the time

Are you slowly d/c all your hair color? I'm seeing less & less options. After my last e-mail for light brown all colors were restocked next day..which was great. But this one is out a few days later? How? It makes me uneasy. Like I should be switching now..because these won't be around too much longer. Shame. I think if you keep them stocked, ppl will stick with them. If you read the feedback, most think it's a great product. But u need it when u need it & not everyone has access to a store.
