I have very dark brown hair - almost black and this one looks great! Some hair colors leave a tinge of red but this one dosen't. It's really nice however it lasts for 28 washes but in a months time you normally have to have it touched up anyway. I also have a lot of gray and it covers it all up!

Will I need more than one bottle?

I have thick, curly, long hair, so I am wondering whether I will need more than one bottle of the dye. My hair is about "bra-band" length. It sounds like a great product, but if I have to buy two it's almost worth it to go to the salon. I take 1.5 bottles there. Please let me know if you think I'll need more than one of these... I have thick curly hair that reaches mid-back as well and one bottle was more than enough for my hair. At the salon, my colorist normally has to mix at least two batches, but this was right at the perfect amount for me.

I have the same length hair, and I always have a little left over. If you are worried, I would do the longer method of using the bowl and brush to dye your hair, as you may be able to stretch the product out more.

How come it says permanet when also says it lasts 28 shampoos?

As far as I know, permament means permanent and amonia free means it fades because amonia makes color permanent. If this is amonia free then is not permanent. Please share opinions.

Well the dark brown color is still in my hair after about a month and has barely faded. My hair color was originally med. brown so maybe there are different results for different hair color. My hair has grown about a 1/2 inch and there is difference in color, so I know it didn't fade that drastically, and the only reason that I noticed it was fading is the color of the water when I'm washing my hair in shower. I'm not using a hair color shampoo and conditioner witch would probably help prevent fading. I have no problems with this color, and most hair dies will fade even if they have ammonia in them. I would use more hair colored products to help keep hair from fading if that's your problem. I would use this product again. Hope I could help.

The actual definition of semi and demi permanent is washing out after 12-16 washes. This product is definitely permanent. I saw on their Facebook page that they will be replacing the 28 washes with Permanent Color on their boxes now.

Well remember you earn your points if you are a beauty insider!!! You can always purchase 2 and if you need more than the one pack, then you will have it on hand. I always color after I get my hair cut... It holds better and I have no dead ends, just an ideA. I think this is a lot less damaging than the color from the salon, the pequi oil teatmemt is amazing!!!!! The smell is also rather pleasant as well.

Wow, not helpful at all. If it only lasts 28 shampoos then it would technically be a demi permanent color-just lasts a tiny bit more. Permanent color means permanent.

I already have dark brown hair. I've been dying it at salons, and initially my color comes out looking black, with dark brown lowlights. When it fades, it fades to brown.

Well the kit tells you what to do for root tuch ups It is really dark almost black, and if you were just to do the roots your "highlights" would look like they grew out. but also the box said something along the lines of, "See a professional colourist if:
•Your hair is heavily highlighted/ bleached
•You want dramatic change, like black to blonde
•You want to lighten hair previouslydarkened with hair colour
•For best results stay within 2
shades of your natural hair colour.
•Do not wash your hair 24 hours prior to using this kit."
