Jennifer Aniston Jennifer Aniston

In the creation of her debut fragrance, Jennifer Aniston called to mind her earliest and most beloved recollections of scent. Evoking memories of sunny days at the beach and happy summer nights, this captivating composition includes light, blooming floral notes set against a sensual base of musk and woods."I wanted this fragrance to be a personal library of scent memories. For example, my love of night blooming jasmine has lasted a lifetime. Growing up in California, I distinctly remember the scent of jasmine on summer evenings. I consider the scent of the ocean to be one of life's most uplifting sensual experiences. No aroma is quite so purifying, humbling and exhilarating. The combination of the salty air and tropical oils reminds me of long sunny days on the beach-pure happiness." —Jennifer AnistonThe bottle, inspired by Jennifer's love and appreciation of architecture, references the flow of a Frank Gehry building and the fluidity of a cresting wave. Watch Jennifer's personal message about her debut fragrance. Notes:Citrus Grove Accord, Rose Water, Jasmine, Violet, Amazon Lily, Musk, Amber, Sandalwood.Style:Sensual. Floral. Clean.

I tried it out in the store. I am not sure if you can get a sample to take with you but I sprayed it on my skin to see how it would smell on me. I felt that was the best way to try it IMO.

I order perfume samples from a company called The Perfumed Court. Since JA is relatively new, they may not have it, but, you can always email them and ask, if you don't see it on their website. I have used this company a couple of times to check out new fragrances and I haven't been disappointed.

I believe if you go into a sephora store, you can request a sample vial. Either that, or wait until it surfaces as one of the samples in your basket (which may or may not happen).

What does it smell like?

Perfume smells different on everyone. I love this perfume. It smells floral and clean on me, but I bathe daily with dial body wash and use Gain liquid laundry detergent. When the others say it smells like a laundry mat or vanilla, it may be interacting with their body wash or laundry detergent. I generally love very sweet scents, but this one has a base of musk and that makes it last without being overly sickly sweet. It's not as sweet as what I normally wear, nor is it beachy coconuty smelling, but it's a keeper for me.
You can always send it back, but if you like soft florals with a hint of musk, you'll like this.

Yep, I just returned the perfume b/c it was too soapy for me. I couldnt describe it but you hit it on the nail when saying you heard it smells like laundry..thats exactly what it smells like. So for me thats not beachy . When i think of beachy I think of suntan lotion, coconuts, natural smells.

Question
What's in a name?
I am just wondering~ I have found that actors / singers / models who design a fragrance, or have one designed and slap their name on it, it just really smells "commercialized". Like they all really smell similar and somewhat cheap. Kind of like when you open the flaps up to "Reveal the Fragrance" in the magazines.

I just want to make sure this doesn't smell like that. Thanks~

The question was, "What's in a name?". I love this perfume but I am completely turned off by her putting first and last name on it. So to not sound corny I have renamed it Zen by Jen. Isn't that cooler than saying, "I'm wearing Jennifer Aniston,"?

I've read about her over the years getting together with girlfriends and experimenting with different perfume oils. And reading about what she wanted in a perfume, I think she got very hands on with hers. Now if she starts coming out with a new perfume every year like Jennifer Lopez or Halle Berry, I'll be disillusioned!

I share your concern about the average celebrity fragrance. I just received my Jennifer Aniston and I am thrilled. It is just as she describes it, jasmine tempered by a note that conveys the ocean (balances out the jasmine) and grounded by a touch of sandalwood and more. The packaging is gorgeous and more than I expected for the price. This is my new fave...holds its own with the major designer fragrances and is well priced for the quality and quantity. A keeper, a classic.

I just sent in my review ..and commented that this does NOT smell like another typical boring perfume..trust me I'm fussy about perfume...I don't like anything that smells ...how should I say this..like old lady perfume or just super strong not soft ....I prefer clean smelling perfumes, nothing too spicy etc....I truly am happy with this perfume .....I think it probably reflects her personality. Don't know her personally, but could see her wearing a scent like this! I LOVE IT!

My personal opinion is that it does not smell cheap. The jasmine notes made me nervous because I ordered it online from the UK on ebay and I could not return it. The Jasmine is a night blooming jasmine which is soft and not like cheap dime store perfume. It is a soft smelling scent. It's not "teenager" and not "old". It is a classy light sexy scent. I smell more of the jasmine, amazon lily and a bit of musk when I wear it. The staying power is not like something you would find with Juicy Couture fragrances but if I spray it in my hair around my ears I can smell it well into the night.

I have worn both. I like them both for different reasons, although, I think D&G Light Blue has better staying-power. The Light Blue seems to have a little more overtone of the musk and the dry-off seems a little warmer than the JA. The JA is lighter, with a touch of floral. My only argument with the JA is that there seems to be no staying power with it.

There is no comparing the two scents. Light Blue is fresh clean and citrusy. It's a scent that can be worn all year long. I actually bought Jennifer Anistons perfume and returned it the next day.. I thought I liked it when I put it on in the store, but after it wore down I hated it. The scent of jasmine was overwhelming. Light Blue has no jasmine. It's clean and fresh. Jennifer Aniston reminds me of Jungle Gardenia from the 60's and I hated it. It was too strong and too perfumy.. I wouldn't even put the two perfumes in the same category.. I love Light Blue, I hate Jennifer Anistons perfume...

I know samples are available in Sephora stores, but I'm not sure if they have them for shipping. I definitely advise testing this out before buying, which I wish I had done. Many women really liked it, but a lot of reviewers, along with myself, did not care for the fragrance at all. Also, the perfume doesn't last long, after about an hour it is almost undetectable. If you can't get into a Sephora store, check the Internet. I know there are sites out there that specialize in mini and travel size perfumes.

There are a couple of ways you can try it! You can order Sephora's deluxe fragrance sampler and get a pretty large sample/small bottle of it to try at home, or you can go into a Sephora store to test it. Other department stores likely have samples of it as well so you might try calling around a bit. :)

Samples are a great way to try new products & we include three free samples with every Sephora.com order. The sample selection is listed on our website and changes frequently, so check back often to see what we're offering. At this time we are unable to send custom samples from our warehouse. Another great way to try new products is to visit your local Sephora store. At the store, a Cast Member can make a tester for you of any products that we carry. They can also answer questions for you and make recommendations for other products. To find a store near you, check out our store locator. Thanks!
