I use it for my blemishes and find it works pretty well. Also, you should try 'laura mercier' silk creme foundation--covers really well with a makeup sponge.

Yes, the flesh tone will cover acne. Set with powder afterwards.

I didn't keep mine because the light shade, which should fit my skin color is too orange. But if you can find a shade to use, I think it could conceal a breakout. If you mean a full coverage true Acne scars, than I'd say no.

Yes, it would. It has excellent coverage and gives you a nice matte finish without being too drying.

Question
does it settle into fine lines like most other concealers do?
Also, is it long-lasting and relatively water-proof? My eyes tend to water a lot. If I put this concealer under my eyes and it gets wet for a second, will it be noticeable?

YES. I used a brush to apply, finger pat to finish blending and set with my mineral foundation. I tried for a week to use this product and so wanted it to work because of the color, texture and how it is made. Unfortunately every time I looked in the mirror I would have to pat it out of the creases where it had settled, creases I never could see before! I do not have oily skin. Good luck.

I don't think it will melt very fast, but it is super creamy and doesn't settle, so it does wear as the day goes on. I would not call it water proof, but water resistent.

If you blend out the concealer you shouldnt have it settle into lines. My routine for concealer is: face prime, argan concealer (with concealer brush), reg concealer patted into the argan concealer with my ring finger, powder to set the concealer. I have oily skin so i usually have my makeup settling into the creases but with a good primer and powder you shouldnt have such a problem. powder is key to avoid makeup creasing.

You will want to pat it on the line and wrinkle blend to the correct color an the set with a powder. This does not accentuate the deep laugh line I have around my mouth. Rather the color sits on the skin and smoothing out the appearance. This does really well with keeping out the daily oil of your face that may be accentuating the foundation in your wrinkles because it helps keep you more matte thus the Foundation just sits and smooths out. I would NEVER for get to pat on some finishing powder after your foundation concealer session with this stuff.

The bottom color is the brightener, mainly for the under eye area. Apply this first SPARINGLY. Then dot the top color on -this is the actually concealer, and blend with a soft brush. I use the concealer (top) to cover other imperfections, but only use the brightener under the eyes and in the corner of the eye.

Using a flat brush, blending the two colors together to get a smoother combination in order to cover laugh lines, redness and use this before your own foundation.

I just start with the darker shade (and I am fair), then pat it with your ring finger. Blend in some of the lighter over the darker shade, using the same method of patting. The darker shade is not as dark as it appears, but it does create a balance for a more natural look. Just take time and play with it to find which combo works best for you.

You can blend the two shades for best shade for your skin, use lighter under eyes, and darker on blemishes or discolorations, and redness. Be warned , if you have fair to light skin, the shade that's called "light' is quite dark, and the shades are a bit odd.

Question
How does this compare to Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage?
I have been using Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage for close to two years now. It has been great, and has taken me forever to hit pan. I'm thinking of a nice change.

Has anyone used both Laura Mercier and Josie Maran and if you could please tell me which one you liked better and why, it would be much appreciated. Thank You!

Laura Mercieershades are better. Laura Mercier needs to be warmed on your hand first(harder to blend) but has more staying power than Josies Maran. josie Maran claims the Argan oil is treating your skin, while offering concealing, and I believe this is true. i still prefer the coverage, shades, and staying power of Laura Mercier, though more work to apply and blend. Hope this helps.

I've used both, prefer the Laura Mercier, the Josie cream concealer is similar, but too creamy and settled in my fine lines. Normal concealers don't do that to me. I liked that the Laura M concealer has one side that is drier, for lack of a better description, and I could mix it to be drier or creamier depending on where I wanted to conceal. This one is great in color, but too creamy and soft. In my opinion. Then again I have combo skin (but eye are is dry for me).

Actually I was going to buy the Laura Mercier product when I got this - I found the Josie Maran easier to use and smoother. I bought it because I came across it while wandering around the store - so I'm a first time user and a convert.

I've tried Laura Mercier and I loved it..I'm using the Suede shade of Josie Maran and I think this offers more variation since you can lighten or darken it if you get tanned or if its winter and you're paler. Also I found this doesn't crease like laura mercier :)

Question
Which shade goes with her "butter" tinted moisturizer?
The lightest shade"sand"looks too light. It seems for more porceline skin. Her butter shade of TM & concealer in the tube is just a smidgen too light for me but the next shade it definitely too dark. I am guessing the "suade" in this shade combo would be what I should choose??

I use the Butter Tinted Moisturizer. I ordered the Concealer, in Sand. One shade is too dark for anything but using on maybe blemiishes, but not under the eye, while the lighter sade is way orange looking. It is creamy, and doesn't settle into lines but the shaeds aren't good. At least not for me. It is a lot darker in person than it looks here online.

I wear butter, and sand was the perfect color. In person it looks darker than online.
I'm the same, wish there was a color between butter and linen. I end up using butter, putting on clear powder and then a light dusting of bronzer bcbutter was a hair too light and linen was too dark. I'd rather have a foundation be too light and I darken it with bronzer though, can't fix a foundation that is too dark!

I am light-skinned and a Sephora employee did a "color match" for me (butter). I purchased the Sand concealer before trying the TM, and it works very well for me as far as color goes. I think they'll go very well together too.
Sephora should be able to return the concealer for you if you purchase it and it doesn't work out.

Question
What powder is best used to set this product?
I found that after application, it gathers in my creases and I have to redistribute. I do not apply this heavily. I read that it should be "set", but what is the best choice of powder? I use a mineral powder foundation.

I'm not sure which brand of mineral powder you use, but I've had good results with Clinque's redness solutions mineral powder for all over my face, including over the concealer. If you don't have a problem with redness Clinique has other mineral powders you could try. I'm also a fan of Make Up Forever's HD microfinish powder, and Lorac's oil-free wet/dry powder. Another suggestion would be to check your application. I mentioned this in the product review already, but I use a concealer brush to apply the corrector, then blend it with a small blending brush, and repeat the process with the concealer. I find using my finger only moves the product around and doesn't really help to set it. If you're still not satisfied maybe try going to a local Sephora if you have one and ask them what they'd suggest.

I never got to see the old concealers in person, however the sand was very blendable, with one side lighter and one side darker. I have medium skin tone, wear laura mercier concealer in a level 2, or Amazing Concealer in light golden, or MAC N25, and it is about the same shade range. Hope that helps.

I went to the Sephora store, and the makeup counter matched me to creme. Then when I came online to actually purchase it, they only had this one. I waited and waited, but the other one never came back, so I just ordered sand. I have found that it matches very very well. There are two shades in the compact--I think the browner one is the same as creme or at least close, and the pinker one is the same general shade, but it's better for under your eyes because of the slight pink tint. Once you run your brush over it, it looks lighter.

I haven't used the old creme concealer before except when the makeup counter people put concealer/foundation/bronzer on me to test out, but this color works great for me, can't tell the difference from that one day, and I love it. I have very fair skin (esp. this time of year).

Question
What to use to keep it longer?
I love how moisturizing it is and the coverage when I apply it under my eyes to cover up undereye dark circles. To take away the oilness and shine I pat a little bit of powder on it (Guerlain Meteorites). However, after 2-3 hours it starts melting and balls up, and eventually dissapears when I try to smooth it out in the afternoon. I hope to hear some tricks and advices how to make it stay put from long time users of this concealer. Thank you.

I don't have this issue, but try waiting longer in between applying the concealer and setting it with powder to ensure that it's dry and soaked into the skin a bit. Also, in the one I purchased, I find the top (lighter) shade is a tiny bit less moisturizing than the bottom shade. If you are using a combo of the shades, try using the less moisturizing shade more. Maybe try not setting it with powder and just use a blotting sheet when you feel it's getting oily.
