#1: Does it matter if I apply it in the morning or does it have to be evening? The instructions are somewhat vague.
You can do it during the day but it just is more convenient at night. It exfoliates , and the color builds over time so it's perfect to do at night before moisturizer and wake up with a tan face!
#2. How long does it take to "activate" and show color? An hour, a few hours?
about 4-6 hours.
#3. Should I exfoliate prior to using this? Seems like it would be a good idea.
NO! you will likely experience redness and sensitivity if you do. with most self tanners you would want to, but this product actually exfoliates already, so there is no need.
#4. Is there a "secret" way to make sure I get an even application without streaks? I haven't used a self tanner since the 80's and let me tell you -- they were horrid back then. LOL
Just be really thorough- you cant see any color when you apply, so just make sure you are getting your face evenly and blending into your hair line, and down onto your neck and chest. One pad will do your face, neck, and most of your chest and shoulder area.
answer 3
I usually apply mine at night. You can always exfoliate in the a.m. if you feel like you have gotten a little too much color. Also, you don't have to use the entire pad at one time. Just put it back in the package and clip it back up and use the rest on the following day. I have done this also and love the gradual color that I get.
answer 4
these are only intended to be used on your face and neck. They are not made for the body. I apply mine in the evening, after I have cleansed my face. They are amazing! The color starts to develop in approximately an hour. This product has alpha and beta hydroxy acids that exfoliate the skin, so you don't really need to exfoliate before using them.
answer 5
I have found that it is best to use this product in the morning after I wash my face and let it dry completely. I do NOT put any moisturizer on and apply the glow pad directly to my bare skin and let it dry. I then put bare essentials powder foundation over it and go about my day. I don't see any reason why you can't do this at night as well.
As far as streaking goes... Just take your time and make sure to cover all areas. I also use it on my neck and ears to make sure I have even coverage and no visible lines. The pad is large enough to cover more than just the face... but not much more, it is definitely just for the face and neck and is not big enough for body coverage.
I do exfoliate lightly before using this product. Its always a good idea to do before using a self tanner.
Hope this helps :)

Questions:
#1: Does it matter if I apply it in the morning or does it have to be evening? The instructions are somewhat vague.
- I prefer evening so makeup doesn't interfere and I can wake up with a surprise tan ;-)
#2. How long does it take to "activate" and show color? An hour, a few hours?
- It took a few hours for me when I tried it during the day.
#3. Should I exfoliate prior to using this? Seems like it would be a good idea.
- I always exfoliate first so the tanner isn't concentrated on rough spots.
#4. Is there a "secret" way to make sure I get an even application without streaks? I haven't used a self tanner since the 80's and let me tell you -- they were horrid back then. LOL
- No secret for me, I just rub till I think I'm finished, then rub some more because I'm not!
answer 7
Don't use them at all, throw them away and buy Tan Towels for fair/medium skin, you will be so much better off for it.

1. I have used this both in the evening & in the morning. I personally prefer the evening b/c it allows more time to dry before I apply other products (moisturizer, makeup, etc.)
2. I noticed the color developing within a few hours.
3. Exfoliating is always good before applying tanning products, but don't over do it. This product contains glycolic acid which is a chemical exfoliant. I would recommend a mild brush or puff with your regular cleanser.
4. I run the pad all over my face in a circular motion. I then quickly (before it dries) buff around my hairline, eyebrows, and smile lines with a cotton ball to prevent color build-up in those areas.

I have medium skin and used this right away on my face at night. In the morning my skin was super dark and a bit too much ( for my taste) on the orange side. I "doctored" up the look with blush and mineral bronzer to even it out and tone it down. If you have very light skin, I would go very easy on it. Better to layer it if necessary.

#1: Does it matter if I apply it in the morning or does it have to be evening? The instructions are somewhat vague.
The benefit of applying them in the evening is that you aren't exposed to the elements - sun, wind, rain, etc. Heading to the gym, sweating, showering ... all of those will impact the results if you don't leave enought time for the color to develop.
#2. How long does it take to "activate" and show color? An hour, a few hours?
Sorry, I always apply these an hour or so before bed, so I can't help with this one ;)
#3. Should I exfoliate prior to using this? Seems like it would be a good idea.
YES! People underestimate the benefits of exfoliating first. I have VERY pale, dry skin; so exfoliating is a must for me to achieve a streak-free tan.
#4. Is there a "secret" way to make sure I get an even application without streaks? I haven't used a self tanner since the 80's and let me tell you -- they were horrid back then. LOL
I exfoliate first, use one of the pads, and then I apply a lightweight moisturizer (make sure it's just a moisturizer, not a "treatment" cream). I have found using a light face lotion afterwards helps me even out the application from the Glow Pad. It also slightly tones down the color, which I like because I am so pale. Don't forget to wash your hands and wrists :)
