As far as I know from the list of all ingredients, it is oil free. It is not listed as oil free on the bottle though. It contains glycerin that gives it moisturizing properties.

It is not oil-free as far as I know but Shiseido did just come out with an Oil-free version with SPF 42 which is also very nice as well.

You can feel this on your face right after application, but this one does dry down once it sinks in. This is a thicker cream like product, I use the Extra Smooth Lotion SPF 38 from the same line under my makeup daily, and its more lightweight than this product is, its watery, so it absorbs right away. But, this product is good, it just takes a minute of two to sink into your skin.

Question
Is this a thick cream?
I'm not suppose to use thick creams on my face. If this is a thinner cream, I'll be able to use it.

No, this is a lightweight, non-greasy cream. Based on my experience (and I have fair, sensitive and combination skin), I'd recommend it for all skin types. You might want to try a sample before buying the full-size product. Hope this helps.

It might be able to if you were more on the oily side but I would still recommend using a moisturizer that's suited for your skin type then add this on top

While this sunscreen contains active ingredients that protect against dryness, oxidative pollutants, and UVA/UVB rays that cause photo-aging, spots, and wrinkles, I recommend using a moisturizer as well. This isn't as hydrating to be used alone. I hope that answered your question!

Question
How does the Face & Body compare to the Face sunscreen in the same line (Urban Enviroment) ?
I am looking for something very matte and looks good under makeup. Not having to use a lot of product is also a plus. I am leaning towards the Face & Body because it has more product, but I would rather purchase the Face sunscreen if it works significantly better. Please & Thank you!<3

The one for face is much more liquidy. This one is pretty thick and leaves white residue on your face. Talking about the amount of sunscreen, no matter which product you're using, unless it's chemical based, while most of the effective products are combination (both physical and chemical), you supposed to use 2g of sunscreen in order to give enough protection. (That's basically the amount they used to test out the SPF and PA values)

I use the Shiseido Urban Environment spf 40 face/body for my face only. Kind of expensive to use on body. It's great on the face and yes--it doubles as a primer like it says. It is matte so the pores are less noticeable. I love it. I was looking for the same things you are. I am very happy with this purchase. I would get it.

Yes, but SLIGHTLY less water in it, so the tiniest bit "goopier." I prefer the texture of this one to the 55, but I do use both and love both. Also, while it is water-resistant, it's not quite as strong, so it doesn't leave as much of a residue on your face and absorbs a little more quickly.
