GLO Science GLO Brilliant™ Whitening Gels

What it is:A set of 10 refill GLO Whitening Gels in the patent-pending G-Vial delivery applicator with the highest and safest percentage of Hydrogen Peroxide gel, with the purest, most potent formulation. Each G-Vial contains enough gel for up to four applications. What it is formulated to do:Unique to GLO—it is a highly viscous, thixotropic formula so when applied, it adheres to your teeth without getting on gums and other soft tissue, avoiding the sensitivity common with other whitening methods. Remove a G-Vial's cap and its perfectly shaped tip allows the gel to glide easily over teeth in one quick back-and-forth motion. After applying, use the GLO Brilliant Whitening Mouthpiece to activate the gel's whitening properties. What else you need to know:The GLO Whitening Gel goes on easily, has a fresh mint flavor and is alcohol-free. It stays put on your teeth, does not migrate onto the gums, and does not contain alcohol, which are leading causes of sensitivity. Each G-Vial contains enough whitening gel for four consecutive applications. This is a product refill for use with the GLO Brilliant™ Personal Teeth Whitening System. To use the G-Vials, apply a thin layer over your teeth. After one full G-Vial application, you will get more familiar with the application process, making your next session even faster and easier.

Yes, GLO Whitening will lift the stain and brighten porcelain veneers, bonded teeth, implants —any artificial tooth surface without any harm. However, true whitening occurs on the natural tooth surface and the whitening happens from the inside of the tooth and thus overall lightening. We hope this answers your question!

Question
Do these only work with the rest of the glo system or can these work alone (i.e. just bite on it daily for half an hour)??

You really need the system with the special light to brighten your teeth. However, you can buy extra mouthpieces for other family members instead of another whole system.

Hi sassyrichgirl. This set of refills are for use with the GLO Brilliant Personal Teeth Whitening System only. They would not be effective if used alone. Hope that helps!

Question
Do the gels work without the glowing mouthpiece?
I bought the glo gels but I didnt know it required a mouthpiece to use them, will applying the gel to my teeth still work even if I dont use the glowing mouthpiece? Or do I need to buy a mouthpiece for it to whiten my teeth?

I used the vial without a mouthpiece and they worked fine.

The lighting on the trays are kind of what makes the product distinct from other whitening systems. The lighting tray is somewhat expensive. If you cannot get the tray, I would at least use some sort of retainer or mouth guard so the gel is isolated on your teeth.

Email Glo and complain! all the vials in my local stores had leaked prior to purchase. I understand this may have happened if they had become warm - and then less viscous.

You can keep the gels as long as you want as long as they're not exposed to extreme temperatures, but once opened a G-vial will only last seven days.

Question
Are the G-Vials supposed to be yellow in the middle?
Just purchased the system and when opening the box I saw that the G-Vials have a very distinct yellow colour in between the tips and the gel. Is this the way it is supposed to be or should I be taking this back to Sephora?

My set was definitely clear all the way through. It is possible it could be expired. Also, it is recommended to refrigerate the capsules.

Question
Weekly maintenance
It says I can do either 4 sessions all at once or I can do one session every week. But if the G-Vials expire 7 days after I open them, then am I wasting half a vial every month if I choose to do weekly maintenance?

I read one session to mean one gel (or 4 x 8 minutes = one session). Hydrogen peroxide starts losing effectiveness once it's exposed to air so I don't open a gel unless I know I can commit to 32 minutes.

Hope that helps answer the question.
