Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Deep Cleansing Foam

Question
Can I use this for removing eye makeup?
I've read some reviews that this is not to be used around the eye area. The description of the product says that it can remove makeup. I'm confused! Has anybody used this product around the eyes? Does it sting?

I use it every day to remove eye makeup and have no problems. I do have to rub a little more on the eyelashes to make sure I get all the mascara off, but I have no problems with it.

I've used it on my eyes while washing my face and it didn't bother my eyes. But in my experience, it does not take off makeup, whether it's eye or face makeup.

I use it all over my face, always including my eyes- I can't be bothered w separate cleansers for eyes, etc. It works wonderfully, and NO it doesn't sting-
If you use an eyeliner w real staying power- (I do)- I sometimes wipe my eyes w moisturizing cream on a tissue to get remaining.

I wouldn't - it is so light and airy once 'lathered' I think it would creep into your actual eye too easily. use a makeup remover designed for eye makeup and this on the rest of your face

Use the Bare Minerals eye makeup remover, then this cleanser for the rest of your face if your skin is not dry. The eye makeup remover is fantastic, just shake and apply with a big, soft cotton ball.

the purifying is milky , and lite, great for eye makeup removal. while the foamy, is just that.. the smallest amount will foam up tremendously and has a cream feel. I use and love them both. I prefer the foam :)

They both work well for oily problematic skin. I use the deep cleansing in the morning, after working out daytime hours basically, then before bed i use the exfoliating and finish off with the barevitamin lotion.. I wake up in the morning and my face looks fresh and (getting) healthy. I look forward to using these products everyday, and thats a lot to be said. I have spent thousands of dollars on cleansers from high end to bar soap. This is a miracle in a bottle.

I honestly liked both, i got a sample from the store and used one and the other, I have an oily skin too, but neither made it more oily. i was told the foaming one is deep cleaning and the purifying is more gentle. I ended up buying the Foaming cleanser, just because it felt better. I think the best advice is to try to get a sample of each from the store and see which one feels better for your skin.

The foaming cleanser comes out of the tube and almost looks like paste at first. You only nead about a pearl sized amount and you mix it with water to create a very rich and foamy lather. The purifying facial cleanser has more of a milky texture and doesn't lather much, but it still leaves my skin feeling really clean and smooth.

I was told that the deep cleansing foam is for people with oily skin, and the other is for people with combination or dry skin...but I've heard good reviews about both cleansers, so I really don't think you can go wrong. I bought the deep cleansing foam since the other one was all sold out, and I got the last one of the deep cleansing foam at the store I was in, so They are obviously hot items. I really like the deep cleansing foam...it cleans deep but doesn't dry out the skin, and makes your face feel really soft.

Do you have to wet your face before applying the cleanser?

I don't know that it matters that much. I've tried it both ways, and I think I prefer wetting my hands, getting a pea sized amt. of the product, working up a lather and then applying it to my dry face...think maybe it stays foamier on the face that way.

I wet my face with warm to hot water and then lather- it foams, lathers and cleans, taking all makeup away,...and of course rinse.
I have used other cleansers that apply to dry skin then rinse, I just think you have to open the pores first rather than in rinsing .

If you have combo skin that's more on the dry side (like me) then I'd go with the purifying. The purifying facial cleanser does not induce my kp which is AMAZING because almost every cleanser I've tried leaves little bumps on my face. The deep cleansing is great too because it really cleans deep but it tends to dry me out even when I use it once a day (night).

Question
Comparison to BM Purifying Facial Cleanser?
Has anyone tried both this BM Deep Cleansing Foam as well as the BM Purifying Facial Cleanser? If so, what's your comparison between the two and which would you recommend?

I am looking to try one of the cleansers. I currently use the Aveeno Skin Brightening soy face wash (comparable to Fresh Soy facewash) but like to switch and try out different cleansers. I have normal yet somewhat sensitive skin. Now that it's winter, my skin errs on the dry side. Occasional acne due to stress. Also use retinol and antioxidant night cream; vitamin C serum and BE makeup for daytime.

I like both but the Deep cleansing Foam is my favorite. You only need a little of either whoch makes both last a long time. If you like more lather when.washing your face and love the foam feel for the deeper clean then Deep Cleansing Foam is great esp with keep your face clear and stop a lot of little pimples. The other purifying one is a lighter face wash and is not going to lather up a bunch unless you use a lot. It is more for someone who does not need to really clean their face as deeply. Both are great on my sensitive skin!

I have (and use) both. I like the light one for daily use and I use the thicker one a few times a week for 'deeper' cleaning. It's thicker and creamier. Both are nice and gentle. I think they are pretty moisturizing, though if you're looking for more of that I would recommend the deep foaming one. They last a good amount of time as well. The BE heavier moisturizing lotion is amazing for winter, too!

Question
Can this product be used for the eye area?
In the product description it says that this cleanser is gentle enough to remove eye makeup, but under product details it says "avoid eye area". This is a bit confusing, as the product page is telling me yes, use it on your eyes and no, don't use it on your eyes at the same time! Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks!

I use it all over my face, it does not sting the eyes, but can be drying if used daily on that area. I would advise to use on your face daily or as needed, eye area sparingly. I also would not classify this product as gentle--which is why I gave it two big thumbs up in my review. It does the trick on oily skin.

I can only vouch for the deep cleansing foam because I know it works amazing with a clarisonic, a washcloth, or just your fingers. You really can't go wrong it gives such a deep clean! Because of that I do suggest only using it at night because you don't need that good of a cleanse in the morning, and be sure to follow up with a very good night time moisturizer (I love Sephora's brand).

I have been using this since it first came out. Before I bought my Clarisonic. They work great together or alone. Without drying or a "chemical" feel, the Deep Cleansing Foam does as it is named. I fallow with the Pure Transformation Night Treatment to further help reduce the appearance of pores, increase luminosity and deliver faster cell turnover-resulting in miraculous skin-renewing benefits.

I too like the Ultra Repair Cream and also had no luck with other bare Minerals skin care but I love this deep cleansing foam and so does my husband! If you can make it to a Sephora store, they will make you a sample for you to try before you buy.
