If you're going to change your polish, definitely use a good remover as you should always start with a clean, polish free surface. This applies even if you're just taking this product off (without regular polish) and adding a couple new coats of clear.

Yes! It's a base coat with the natural strengtheners in it, so even if you use it alone for strengthening, it will dry on the nails like a shiny base coat. I just use it under my nail polish and it works great!

I plan to use remover just so I can update the nail polish. It really does not need to be removed unless you want to redo it, like me.
