I think it really depends on what your natural skin and lip colour are! I am very light and the purple stain looks just the way it looks on the swatches the other user posted on me. It is definitely not a blueisch purple, the undertones are more pinkishbrown, but on me it looks very very dark and highly pigmented. It also depends on how you apply it, if you apply it very sheerly it looks more fuchisaisch, then if you apply a more dense layer, then it gets darker and more purpel. hope this helps!

On my lips it is a plum like color not pink or red.
Also depends on how dark it is because of the lighting.
I love the feel. A bit sticky but very pigmented. Liked it so much I also bought Always Red.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain will not feather under any circumstances. It's more of a cream color than a stain - it provides full coverage. If you apply it to a naked lip and don't try to set it with powder, it will last all day without creeping.

I did not have a feathering problem with this lipstain. I know what you mean, the liquid lipstain from Bennefit feathered really bad but this one didn't. The consistency is thin and pigmented but not watery. I thing the brush helps. It is a felt tip brush which gives you that smooth and even application.

Try using Sephora's Lush Lip Stain, Sephora's Cream Lips Stain, and then Sephora's Matte Lipstick. Apply the Lush Lip first, then add the Cream Stain, then apply the Matt Lipstick. My lips stay just as I applied them in the morning, with abolutely no feathering. If you ;lip your lips a lot, you might want to add a small amount of gloss to moisturize so you don't lick <lickingt takes away any lip product much faster>. Try these 3 products in colors you like and see if that works for you.

Just tried the Sephora Cream Lip Stain and like it a lot. Very smooth going on and after it sets, does NOT move. Lips feel naked, but lots of color. LOTS of color--almost too much. Other stains are gel-like, and can be drying (not what you want). For just $12 it might work for you.

I am not good with tones but I would say more blue for this red. I always have trouble finding good lipcolours because my fair tone tends to bring out oranges in certain shades. This red is perfect because the stain goes on exactly as it looks in the bottle and does not change due to the tone of my lips.

I think you should go to the store directly and put a little bit on your skin. The back side of your hand, if it starts tingling, then don't get it. Or put a lip balm on your lips first then apply it on. See what happens because you will be missing out on this great product. If you do have an allergic reaction, which I hope you don't, complain to Sephora. Let them know it would be great for them to create another lip stain without avocado oil.

By the way, I am allergic to avocado too and ingested a little bit while I had it on my lips. I felt tingling in my stomach, that's it, that was my reaction. See what happens. I bought it too.

I'm sensitive and this one felt fine. I'm not a Dr. but if you have those allergies I wouldn't risk it is moisturizing so the oil is a seemingly intrgal part of the success of this lipstain.

I know we like to look great and I'd be bummed if I were allergic to this one, but sweetie don't jeapordize your health for the name of beauty. The safe answer to Me is don't risk it.

Do you have a store near you where you could test a small amount on your inner arm? That would be safer than testing you lips and mouth area if you do have anaphylactic reaction you airway wouldn't be compromised???

I would judge the severity of your reactions in the past..is it a minor irritation or hives? If you have anything beyond a little tingle or redness I truly hope you play it safe! Good luck, I know it is frustrating.

I drink water all day, constantly. I can wear this through a full meal, and not have that moment when I make it to the restroom, look in the mirror and realize my makeup looks bad. It will last you all day. Just be careful not to smear it because even though the color will be there all day (it literally stains your lips a bit even after removing), it won't stay strictly on your lips if you're wiping you mouth like crazy.

It should really last quite a while. It's super pigmented so a little goes a really long way. I only have a sample size from my last visit and if I only used it twice a week, I'd imagine the actual product would last at least a few months. The texture of the lip stain is really silky - almost like water on the lips - nothing like lipsticks or lip gloss, so it spreads really easily if you rub it a little.

It also depends on how many times you reapply, since it can wear off if you put chapstick or lipgloss on top (I suspect it might also come off if oil gets on your lips and you wipe it away). Either way, if you use it alone, it'll need much less reapplying than most lipsticks/glosses. As for water - I think it holds up expertly with water. After letting it set for a few minutes, it won't come off if I press a tissue to my lips, so I can't imagine that it'll come off on a cup or glass. And unless you're licking your lips really hard for some reason or seriously rubbing at it, it should stay on. I'm sure it won't be bright at the end of the day as when you put it on, but that happens with most (if not all) lip products.

The tube looks suspiciously tiny, but it's actually well worth the money. If you're still unsure, you should definitely go try it in stores or ask for a sample size of it to bring home and try for a few days.

This depends on how much of the product you use. The pigment is very intense, meaning that you don't have to use much of it. I apply it in the morning then touch-up in the afternoon- but you'll probably need to reload after a meal.

I have TWO of these- one in Strawberry and the other in a very neutral color- can't remember the name but it has this amazing sheen.

It depends on what you're eating or drinking. Most liquids don't affect them, but anything with oil in food will of course cause them to fade. After I remove mine at the end of the day, an even stain remains on my lips. So, these can go on full color or be blotted/wiped off to give a more natural stain. It's a two in one product.

You will still have a hint of color eight hours later, but I need to add some moisture and will apply gloss, which means I will need to add more color! It's really personal preference but you could go out all night and still have a bit of color in the morning :>)

I think Infinite Rose and Strawberry Kissed would be good to start out with since they don't have brown tones, and anything brown in lip products almost never looks good on redheads with light skin. I have light skin and had brighter red hair a few years ago. I'm also a Make-up Artist, but guessing shades with no picture is harder to do. Hopefully these shades will be great for you.

They are UNBELIEVABLY close, if not exact, as these are so packed with color. I only OWN the first red one but have seen the others in person as well as tried them on. The bottom & bottom left 'smears' of the swatches obviously best represent the color as it is 'full' without the white 'swipe' in the background. Mattes are truly matte, too, no matter what the swatch looks like, just to let you know. Best of luck with whichever color you choose!

The 'strawberry kissed' was sold out in store completely - seemed to be the most popular for all skin tones.

There is no true way to compare the actual color with the online swatch as the lip color is not being seen on another human being AND almost any color can be adjusted with a good lip liner.

The 'Strawberry' color is very bright. I think the pigments are pretty powerful in all the formulas cuz you need very, very little but I will def go with the other colors that seem less bright next time.

I got it in Always Red and in the pictures it looks more like a red with purple undertones, it has more of an orangey undertone. Still high pigmentation with a wonderful color payout, but slightly orangey on me. Hope that helps.

Question
I understand this can be drying on lips,so if you top it with a bit of gloss...does it 'bleed' or migrate?

I tried some clear gloss over "Always Red" the other day, and had no problems with migration. I work at a theme park in Florida, and it didn't budge at all during the day. i found that removal was a bit messier with the gloss over it, though. So, beware of that.

A few people have said that it is drying, and I myself am prone to dry lips, but I have not had any problems with this product drying my lips out. :)

Sometimes I put chapstick atop it midday, and that does the trick.

YES!!! It "bleeds" a lot! Even with the smallest amount of lip goss.

I prefer to leave this stain matte, because as soon as you add a gloss, or apply it over chap stick, it no longer has the strong staying power of a stain, and starts to act more like a lipstick which is easier to take off and move around, accidentally bump, etc.

I added a little other gloss over it, and it did not do anything weird. I am impressed with this product.

I have these in two shades - the classic red and Everlasting Burgundy. I use a THIN THIN layer of chapstick (NOT GLOSS) on top so my lips don't get too dry, and that seems to work just fine and doesn't cause any running. A high-shine, glossy, thicker gloss - yes, I will almost guarantee it will cause them to run and get places the gloss was never intended to be lol (i.e. teeth, around lips etc). However, a very thin layer of a clear chapstick and I'm just fine!

Definitely! I tried layering the stain with a gloss and by the end of the night the stain was still brilliant on the outermost parts of my lips. However, the glossy parts had completely uprooted the rest of the stain, leaving me with an awkward, messy-looking lip liner effect.

Question
Will this color stay a true wear once you put on?
I have purchased so many diffterent red shades of lipstick over the pass several weeks with no luck. Until I saw this on Isha Tyler (The Talk) and loved how it looked on her, so I sent her an email and she replied with this product. The only problem is I'm about a shade darker and all red colors have been turning a darker shade of red (closer to deep red or burgundy) once on. Please help me find my turn red lipstick. I want it to brighten up my face. Any suggestions offered will be greatly appreciated.

the color goes on well, and will change very little once on the lips depending on how light or dark your lips are. But it stays very close to the way it looks in the bottle.

I'm medium brown, and the 01 Always Red stays very true! The way it looks in the tube, is the way it looks on my lips, and after many hours it still looks the same. I found that when I dabbed on a little clear lip balm the color deepened very slightly and toned down the bright/boldness very slightly. Don't get me wrong, even with the lip balm it is still bright! I got soooo many compliments when I wore this color, and it makes my teeth look white!

My skin is pretty pale, so I can't be sure how it will work for you, but it stays true for me. The applicator is more like a gloss applicator (not a lipSTICK, per se), but the color is opaque and very saturated. I think it would stay bright.

I know what you mean about colors changing from person to person, or after some wear it looks different. This stain doesn't change. It went on looking exactly like it does in the tube, and stayed like this for a long time. It doesn't really fade either. I only notice it fading as time goes on and I've been licking my lips (which I do a lot strangely), however it still lasts longer than any lip stick I've ever tried.

I own several colors of this product...and don't know what I'd do without them. In my opinion, they are the best in a stain there is out there in the market. I have blonde hair, green eyes and olive, light to medium complexion, so finding the right color for me is hard. I don't like the shimmering color only because they have a glitter in them, and it just feels werd to me. Not that it's a lot of glitter, I just prefer the matte colors better. The matte colors seem to be more on color then the shimmering ones. The 03 - Strawberry Kissed - says it is a brght pinky red and 01 - Always Red - says it's a classic red.
In applying these, I notice that one swipe on the top and one on the bottom lip is plenty of coverage. Then if you add a gloss on top - you're ready to go. I use Sephora's Lip Stain <which they no longer sell :(> , then apply this cream stain, then a gloss. I do not have to reapply anything other then a gloss maybe once or twice in a 16 hour day. And that is usually after eating.
