Questions & Answers for Shiseido Translucent Pressed Powder

Question
Dry-skin-friendly?
Hi, my skin tends to be on the drier side..will that affect the application of this pressed powder after I apply makeup? I usually use a loose powder so I want to be sure that a pressed powder is a capable substitute.

My skin is also very dry, ESPECIALLY during winter and reason I use this. Most powders settle in my lines, but not this one. I'm sure you will LOVE it : )

I find this powder to be so light that I think it would work superbly on all skin types. It is not drying; but neither is it so moisturizing that it adds to the shine of oily skin. I think you will love it!

I prefer a matte look and I have very dry skin. This is the only powder that I've tried that does not create a scaly dry look on my face. I use a brush to apply and it does not go all over the place like loose powder. I haven't tried the little pad that comes with it, though.

Question
Sparkly??
I went to take a look at this in store today and when I swatched it on my hand it looked like it had really fine sparkles in it. Does anyone else notice this? I really want to get it for setting my undereye concealer (I've got REALLY DARK bags), but I'm not a fan of any glittery face powders. Based on the reviews I've read it should be great for undereyes but I'm just not sure.

I have experienced no shimmer or glitter at all with this powder. It is simply a matte perfecting powder with a truly translucent finish. It is invisible on the skin.

Hi! I have this powder and I just applied it to my wrist and it is not sparkly at all. Just another thought; I discovered another product at Sephora that might help you: Cover FX cream concealer; it comes in several shades and does a very good job of covering up dark circles or any flaws.

I recently purchased this. Haven't had enough time to see how well it works but according to the box, the ingredients include:

synthetic fluorphlogopite, talc, mica, diisostearyl malate, methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, zinc myristate, triethylhexanoin, zinc carboxydecyl trisiloxane, sorbitan sesquiisostearate, dimethicone/methicone copolymer, iron oxides (CI 77491), PEG/PPG-36/41 dimethyl ether, chlorphenesin, vinyl dimethicone/methicone silsesquiioxane crosspolymer, iron oxides (CI 77492), titanium dioxide (CI77891), dimethicone, tocopherol, zinc oxide (CI 77947), dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate, methicone, tetradecene

I have no clue what they mean, but hope it helps!

Question
I would like to know the ingredients as well. I would purchase if I could review the ingredients.
Consumers are becoming more educated, Sephora. Ingredients should be listed for every product. I'm disappointed.

Yes! I use mine without foundation sometimes when I just want to reduce the shine on my skin, and it works perfectly. It is light coverage, though, so if you want something really heavy and concealing, then this might not be what you're looking for.

This works great to touch up oily faces/tzones, and remove excess shine, throughout the day. It does not work as a foundation, because it doesn't cover anything up. If you have pretty clear skin, and only want to give your face a soft, or matte look, this will be good. Just keep in mind that it will not even out your complexion, or cover anything up. Hope that helps :)

Question
Shiseido pressed powder or loose powder?
I am deciding between the pressed or loose powder from Shiseido. Which is better and why? Or do they both give the same result and feel? I am looking to just set my foundation and undereye concealer and control oil to prolong makeup wear. Thanks!

Both give the same result. I use the loose-powder (it's large) at home and keep the compact (it's small) with me for touch-ups during the day and for travel. You may want to buy both for this reason.

I have both. The loose powder I use to set my foundation, and the pressed I carry with me for touch ups. Both work great!

Question
SPF?
The description says nothing about SPF or sun protection, but one of the ingredients is titanium dioxide. Does this product provide sun protection? Or is the amount of titanium dioxide too little to offer any real protection?
