Question
leave in hair treatment
Is this serum supposed to be washed out in the morning, like most overnight treatments? Or can it remain in the hair like a leave in conditioner?

I put it on my hair before bed and do not have to wash it out. I just use a curling iron in my hair the next day and go.

Put in in-Leave it in-I happen to be very happy with it. I have skimpy hair-also try surf spray as the next step. Then blow it out-
it's amazing.

You don't need to wash it out! The saleswoman told me that the hair "absorbs" it. I used two pumps before bed on towel dried hair and in the morning my hair was ready to go.

They have many thickening products-surf spray which I love-spray it on-rub fingers through hair and blow - it's a day at the beach without being there but the hair has the look that ocean surf gave it volume. I would never be without it-there are also many more thickening products that are great-check out their list.

Try the Thickening Hairspray. You use it on damp, towel-dried hair per the instructions (it did nothing for me when I used it on dry hair before I read the instructions and saw that you use it on damp, towel-dried hair).

I used it properly for the first time this morning. This morning, my two office mates commented on my hair. Both said that it had much more volume than usual.

Question
Is this as good (or better?) than Fekkai's version?
I've tried Fekkai's overnight serum and I find its smell too strong and perfumey. (It also costs around 3x as much as this product.) I was wondering if this was a better performing alternative? I have fine curly hair and its always so limp and lifeless.

Question
Will it still work if my hair is in a bun or a braid?
I typically wash my hair in the evenings. In an effort to prevent wet hair from tickling my ears while I sleep, I like to put my hair in a bun or braid it before I go to bed. Will this product still work well if my hair is up while I sleep? Do I need to wash it out in the morning, or will it be good to go?

I would say if you like the results why not stay with the plan. I would always continue to use it because it does help and I don't
want to go backwards-I feel it should be a part of what you do.

Yes it does. As with most hair products, your hair will not respond to it unless you are using it consistently. Makes sense considering you wash your hair every day and your hair is constantly growing! But a little of this goes a long way.

Question
Are you supposed to use this product for a certain amount of time before seeing results?
I have very fine/thin hair, I used the volumizing shampoo, the Prep, the thickening hair spray after this serum. I cannot hardly tell a difference in my hair but in reading reviews it sounds like you have to use a while to see a difference. I'm worried if I try to see if it will make a difference in time, and it doesn't, if I can return?? let me know, thanks

I have long, fine hair and haven't noticed any long-term treatment benefits of this product after several weeks of use. It is not thckening or strengthening and does not help to prevent breakage or snaps. It's not worth the money, in my opinion.

Question
Is it HEALTHY for the hair?
Does this product actually improve the health of the hair? Or does it just superficially plump the follicle and cuticle?

It has castor oil, which has been proven to help with hair growth. In fact, it's common to use straight castor oil to massage into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. In fact, you can use it on eyelashes to grow them. And many hair products have some alcohol in it, so that's just a fact of life in hair products.

I don't think this product is good for hair! I found it drying, made my hair brittle and crunchy to the touch. I had to deep condition to get it back to a silky feeling. All this and it wasn't thickening!

This isn't superficial. It infuses your hair with cholesterol and lipid proteins which do actually plump each hair strand over time (just as eating burgers for 2 weeks straight..your body too will "plump"). Two weeks will get you maximum results, then just use it 3 times a week to maintain the fullness. I have colored my hair for years and the thickening serum isn't damaging.

Question
Is this suppose to be watery?
I bought this but it's watery so when I pump 2 or 3 times and rub my hands together to apply it seems to have evaporated. I'm not sure it's really in my hair doing its job. Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated. I mostly air dry my curly hair. Thanks

This product IS liquid when it pumps out of the bottle, and one or two pumps doesn't seem like an ample amount for below-shoulder length hair. On the other hand, I was very disappointed in this product. It didn't thicken my hair. Rather, it made it dry and "crunchy" to the touch, like it needed a repairing conditioner! I tried the shampoo in this line with underwhelming results as well. I wouldn't recommend either!

Because this product is mostly lipid proteins and cholesterol, and without a lot of fillers, the consistency is more watery than a typical serum. Use it religiously for two weeks and you will notice a difference in the thickness of your hair. 3-4 pumps goes a long way. Once the product is in your hands, run them through damp hair so the water can carry the product and disperse it appropriately. Hope this helps!

Question
Would you recommend this product to those with relaxed but fine African American hair?
Although I relax my hair, it's my roots NOT my strands that are thick or shall I say, kinky. I am concerned that this product will accentuate the kinkiness of my roots as opposed to thickening my strands which is my main objective. My hair grows extremely fast, it's long and it's beginning to have that stringy look even though my ends are healthy. Please advise.

I wouldn't use this product on fine, African American hair, especially if already relaxed. It is very drying, made my own fine Caucasian hair dry and "crunchy" and there was no thickening result I could see. My hair cried out for deep repairing conditioners after about a month of using this product. I also tried the thickening shampoo in this line with underwhelming results. I wouldn't recommend!
