Questions & Answers for Bumble and bumble Curl Conscious Smoothing Shampoo

Question
Best Curl Regimen ?
There are so many curl regimen products on the market that it is quite overwhelming. I know that B&B has fabulous products -- the salon I used to go to carried them and used them on clientele and I really liked them. I am stoked that Sephora is now carrying this line. Yay!

About this "Curl Conscious" product line of B&B... there are quite a few hair treatments that I am confused about what is what -- and what I need. I have thick, medium to coarse hair that is color treated. It is a little longer than shoulder length. It is in good condition, but I am not satisfied with my waves/curls. It is naturally wavy, but I have to use products to enhance the curls.

Which of the styling products should I use in addition to the shampoo and conditioner? There is the Defining Creme, the Calming Creme, and Holding Foam. I wouldn't think I needed all three in addition to the shampoo and conditioner. Oh... there is also the revitalizing mist... but I understand the purpose for this.

One last question... to achieve the best curls is it necessary to use a diffuser or is it possible by letting my hair air dry? I hate blow drying my hair. With it being so thick and somewhat long -- it takes forever to blow dry and it just seems like a waste of time.

Thanks for you input. :)

I have thick, wavy hair (currently about shoulder length). I use the shampoo, conditioner and foam. I tried the spray, but it didn't do anything for me. Anyway, With those three - it definitely reduces my frizz/poof and makes my waves more like loose curls. My hair is very prone to frizz. I let it air dry and it does get a little frizzy, but I wash my hair at night so I sleep on it and it looks perfect in the morning. I think if I let it air dry and just ran my hand through it a little that it would probably look okay that way too. I hope this helps!

I think my hair might be similair to your and I use the Defining Creme (my stylist suggested it) and I do use the shampoo and conditioner as well but if you were looking for just one product I would go with the Creme. I do think you get better results with a diffuser and I don't hardly use it every day but when I do I just use it to get my hair to a slighty damp state (about 5-7 min) and that seems to help. Hope this is helpful!

For enhancing the curls I would recommend the foam as it is more of a styling product. I own the shampoo, conditioner, the definer and the mist and I really enjoy them but for actual prepping of my hair but i do have to use a styling product for really enhancing my curls such as a hair foam, hairspray. The products from the line that I own help but you need a styling product if you really want to make your waves into curls. Hope this helps!

I color my hair too. This has not stripped the color but I only use it about twice a week.

Yes...Bumble and Bumble has a color line as well that is not supposed to be used daily (per my hairdresser at a B&B salon), so I switch it up between the 2 shampoos.

Definitely. My hair is colored to hide gray, and highlighted. Makes my hair very soft (almost too soft).

I have wavy, fine hair. Will this flatten out my fine hair, or just define the waves?

I doubt that it'll flatten your hair. I have fine, naturally curly hair and it works very well with my hair, including the conditioner and mouse from this line. It smoothed fly-aways, defined my curls and gave volume.

Hello Kerrydd,

This product will help define your waves and it will not flatten them! This product will add texture to your hair and will make it shiny and manageable.

I do! My hair is pretty processed after going from a dark colour back to blonde... and then I've had highlights and stuff since then. If anything the extra moisture in this shampoo will help!

Absolutely! I've been using this product for decades & regularly color my hair. It's perfect for naturally curly haired people who also like to color/hi-lite their tresses.

If you naturally have straight hair or a very minimal wave, there's no shampoo that's going to curl your hair. Basically curl based shampoos help to nourish already curly or wavy hair and help them not be frizzy or flat. If you don't have any curl in there, it's not going to do anything other than what a typical shampoo & conditioner do.

I have naturally curly hair & have been using this product for years. In my experience, it does not add curl. Rather, it helps define curls that are already present.

If your hair is truly straight, like close to stick straight, shampoo really isn't the best way to go about getting your hair to curl at the end. Most curl shampoos, including this one are meant to enhance curls that are already there. The curl enhancing ingredient in this one in particular is meant to help curls clump together, not create curl where there is none to begin with. You're much more likely to get the look you want with styling products and methods. Bumble and Bumble's surf collection might help you out a bit, especially the spray. It uses magnesium sulfate to enhance wave and curl, which might do something for you.

Question
CC Nordic Angel vs CC Smoothing?
I was wondering how the Bb Curl Conscious Smoothing Shampoo compares to the Bb Curl Conscious Nordic Angel Shampoo? I have extremely fine, relatively thin, naturally wavy hair. I've never liked my natural hair before discovering the Nordic Angel shampoo for fine to medium curly hair. It seems the Smoothing Shampoo is the replacement for this, but I am wondering how they compare. Anyone know from personal experience with both??
