Questions & Answers for Bumble and bumble Styling Lotion

Does this work as heat protection?
I asked the stylist at Sephora for something that would protect my hair from the extreme heat of the flat iron, and he pointed me toward this. However, upon reading it, it doesn't seem like that is its purpose. Can it be used as a heat protector?

I've used it as a heat protectant for my straightener with good results. I also use it before I blow dry. So, I say, go for it.

In BB's website, if I search for "heat protect," then this styling lotion comes up in the search result.
BUT! Nowhere does it officially say this is a heat protectant. So, I wouldn't count on this for heat protect.

i use this on dry hair before I sic my curling iron on it, and it makes my hair much softer than just curling it. it's supposed to be used on damp hair as a pre-blow drying product, so i'd definitely say yep!

The product says it is supposed to strengthen hair, but does not say it provides protection from heat styling. I recently purchased this and was not impressed. My hair looked fabulous after initially styling it, but became limp and straight after just an hour. I am not sure if it is the humidity or just my hair texture. I have coarse hair, but also recently had a brazilian blowout. Not sure why it doesn't work for me. Maybe you will have better luck!

Can this product be used as a heat protectant?
I notice that bumble and bumble does not sell a specific item labelled "heat protectant". But on their website, if you type 'heat protectant' into the search bar, this is the only product that comes up. Can this be used as a heat protectant as well?

alcohol in product bad for heat styling?
I noticed this didn't specifically say it has protection against heat, and it's second ingredient is alcohol. I've heard that products with alcohol shouldn't be used before using heat styling tools because the heat will burn the alcohol and your hair or something like that. So does this product actually work? Or does the alcohol counteract all the strengthening/moisturizing agents?

Some will help with moisturizing and others can dry out, it just depends on the type of alcohol. You can reference the ingredients on the bottle to what is in the article (link below) to see which are moisturizing- I thought it was helpful cause I bought a cheap hair "BB cream" to see if it would help with my hair.

I use this before blow drying and flat-ironing my hair every day. I actually started using this years ago as my stylist at the time did the same during my visits. This is light-weight enough for fine hair so it doesn't weigh the hair down.

I don't know what alcohol does in hair products, but this helps straightening hair. Makes hair shiny and sleek.
