Is anyone else noticing some very fine sparkles on your skin when using this product? It's supposed to have a matte finish so maybe I'm just seeing things??

YES!!! I had to return because of the shimmer. It builds up under the eye looking like your eyeshadow is falling off.

There is definitely some shimmer in this stuff...despite the fact that a Stila makeup artist swore to me there wasn't. Guess our definitions of "shimmer" differ...but the shimmer in this isn't too bad. It just kinda gives you a nice glow...although after a few hours it does tend to make my forehead look a bit greasy.

I noticed that as well. At first I wasnt a big fan but after using the product for a while you wont even notice it. Actually no one has ever pointed it out to me either.

I definitely see shimmer, too. I noticed it in the store when I applied it on the back of my hand - in fact, I almost didn't buy it because of that. But I did, and I find that when it's sheer & blended on my face, it looks good.

Yes, but only in the bottle with the window, not the old bottles that are firmer and all gray. (And there is a new product, looks almost the same - but has a shimmer effect, is that the one you bought?)

I thought I saw a bit of sparkles as well. Nothing that would be over baring on your face, but I like a little shimmer. :)

I love the original Stila sheer color tinted moisturizer. I don't need any tinted moisturizer at the moment (I bought two back up bottles when they were on sale at x-mas), but I am wondering if they changed the formula and if so is it better, worse? I'm incredibly curious!

I liked the old Stila tinted mositurizer as well. I think this one is a little more sheer and you'll need to get a shade or two darker to get the same. At least that's what I discovered in the Tono color.

I used it before and I'd say that this is a newer version and they offer more options with color now. I used a very fair one before and it was a bit thicker than this one, and I prefer this one because it is more versatile and the shade is perfect.

The new version is horrible! I am so upset. Because it's oil-free, t's very dry and produces a flat, tight finish. An oil-free moisturizer? Milk your two bottles until they bring it back, I pray.

It's worse! Don't waste your time. I loved the old product and wish I would have known it was being changed, because I would have bought a lot of it. The new colors are terrible (but they have the same names as the old colors).

Hey Phillymo, you can still purchase the original tinted moisturizer on Stila's website. It's in the last call section and it's discounted to $17. They have all shades (except the shade Bare). Better stock up fast! =)

It is so horrible. I wish that i had purchased a stock pile of the earlier product because it was awesome. This one was heavy, tacky, and gave me a rash within a few days of use.

i think this formula is better. the other spf 20 tinted must not have been oil free because i notice a difference in how my skin breakouts have been kept to a minimum since making the switch

This product claims to have SPF 20 in it which is good, but I have oily/acne prone skin and this product did not break me out and it feels nice on my skin. Goes on smooth and easy to work with. Hope I helped :)

It does not contain retinols or peptides, however it contains 10% oxides (5% each of 2 oxides) for a sunscreen. Please do not depend on moisturizers or foundations for a sunscreen. Usually, a gal does not apply enough moisturizer or foundation to be fully effective as a sunscreen. Everyone should be using a separate sunscreen for maximum protection! Also, I always use a moisturizer before using a tinted moisturizer - just me!

Google or you can go to their home page. Sila lists products & ingredients on their website. It doesn't contain oil per se but it does contain silicone, along with Vitamins A, C & two forms of Vitamin E and a mineral sunscreen.

They don't say for sure, but I have almost used up a whole tube and I didn't break out or have any skin problems since I started using this moisturizer. My skin is very sensitive and hates oily products; my pores clog up and I break out. Hope this helps....

Nars is terrible compared to this. Thick mess of awful colors, you won't find a color match like Stila.

I was just at sephora this evening and tried both products. Nars is smooth, goes on well, is not greasy, and offers a sheer to medium coverage. Stila had a better color match, but the product definitely left more shine than I prefer. I was told this product tends to get greasier the longer it sits. I purchased the Nars. Also it has UVA /UVB which is rare, and important to me

I would say get the medium. I am fair with only a light bit of tan from gardening, but I use SPF 40 on my face always!

You should really go in and try the product since there is a vast difference from shade to shade. I used medium 01, then medium 02 when the last packaging change happened, and now am even lighter in shades according to the new line.

Why is the SPF label covered with sticker?

Just bought a tube of this for the first time, wanted a tinted moisturizer with an SPF but when I got home I realized the bottle had a sitcker on it covereing the SPF 20 label. The ingredients list on the back was also covered up with a new sticker. Just wondering if anyone has had teh same problem or knows if it actually has SPF protection or this is an older version of the same product.

Stila's website posts an ingredient list. It is a SPF 20, it contains Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide. I own this and LOVE it!

selecting the right color

I have been using this product for about a month, and love it, but I do think the color chosen by the advisor at my local Sephora is a bit too light. The color is "bare." I don't see that as one of the color choices on the website, so it's difficult to know what to select that would be the right shade. I am 63, fortunate to have really good skin, am fair, with dark hair with lots of silvery gray in it.

BARE is for light skin with* Neutral Beige Undertones*. The next darkest for *Neutral Beige Undertones* would be TONE. The next shade after that is very close to Tone for *Neutral Undertones* and it is MEDIUM. MEDIUM doesn't have any beige in it.
