Question
Powder brush same as #55?
I was looking into getting the Professionnel Air Brush #55, and at $34 it would be a much better deal to get this set, because all of the brushes look really good. If they are the same brush I will just get this set.

The sephora airbrush #55 is not in this set. They have a newer version of the airbrush, called the airbrush precision foundation brush #56, in this set. It's smaller than the original and I think it would be better.

Question
Is the concealer brush bettter than smaller one?
Just wanted to know, how do you use the concealer brush in this kit?
It seems so large for getting close to the corners of the eye area between eyes. Is this mainly used for larger areas or do you use it there?

I used to use a small concealer brush and would notice that it was kind of streaky. I have been using this concealer brush and it works great. No streaks and it seems to be fully covered even in the creases by my eyes. So in my personal opinion it is a great brush for this purpose.

My Bobbi Brown concealer comes in a small pot - so a dab with the concealer brush and it covers and blends smoothly anywhere you put it. I would not want it any smaller. If I need a touch up later in the day, I just pick up the brush and dab around to refresh and smooth any lines.

I thought the concealer brush would be too big also, but when I used it under my eyes and up into the corners around my eyes and nose it worked flawlessly. My concealer application looked amazing! I even use a thick concealer that Benefit makes and the concealer brush worked perfectly.

The concealer brush does look a little thick at first but it fits wonderfully in the under-eye area. It blends the concealer so well that you won't notice any lines between the product and your skin tone.

I would not consider these "travel size" they do not have stubby handles. They are as big as some legacy brand full size brushes. These are very good brushes.

The handles are long, so they aren't necessarily something you'll throw in your purse, BUT they're compact enough for travel without taking up a lot of space.

Full size brushes in a travel case. Yes they are suited for travelling, but likely to be too big for backpacking or a trip with very little luggage allowance. The case is sturdy enough to survive in your main luggage.

I clean them daily w/ brush cleaner just to spot clean on a paper towel and once every week deep cleaning them using Dr. Bronners castile soap. Google it to find out who sells it in your area. It's concentrated so you just use a little and mix it with water. Clean them then rinse and let dry. It really works and makes them new again.

Either make up brush cleaner (I recommend Monda or Cinema Secrets) or with a gentle shampoo and softly wash them until the water runs clear.

I clean the ones that are used for foundation/creams after each use with spray on brush cleaner (Sephora sells this) since the liquid formula products can grow bacteria a lot faster than powder products. I clean the eye brushes that I use with powder/dry shadows when I change colors so I don't get a muddy look. Once every week-2 weeks I clean all the brushes with a swirl in baby shampoo/water mix, rinse and dry flat on a towel.

You should use the daily brush cleaning spray after each use and the shampoo once a week. You may need to shampoo more often if you use a lot of liquid makeup with them since it's a little more difficult to get it all out.

answer 6
As an inexpensive alternative, I use baby shampoo since it is mild. If you are using the brush, than wash after 2 or 3 uses. if sharing them, wash them right before you use them to avoid the spread of bacteria. Wash them until the water runs clear and only the bristles. You do not water to go into the ferrel (the metal part that holds the bristles together with the brush) to avoid it getting rusty.

I typically quickly clean them with the Sephora Makeup brush cleaner after every use or the day after use if I'm in a hurry but normally they should be deep cleaned with Makeup Soap once every 2-3 weeks. oh, and when you wash them thoroughly let them air dry completely before using or storing them back. They will create bacteria if they stay with any little bit of moisture in them! Hope this helped.

answer 4
Washing the set once a week to prevent build up and break outs is ideal. We don't always have the time, so at least spray on a little brush cleaner after each different color of eye shadow application to prevent mixing your different colors. You can use a tiny bit of olive oil on a paper towel to wipe the pigments out of the brushes if they're really dark and have build-up. Then rinse the brushes in the palm of your hand with baby shampoo or your favorite cleanser in a circular motion. Wash one brush at a time, rinse it under running water until it's clear and always hold the brushes downward, so the the handle is at the top, and then reshape it while squeezing excess water out and lay them flat on a towel to dry. You can even use a towel or paper towels to blot excess water out.

I consider them to be full-sized. They do come in a convenient case so that you can travel with them, but they aren't small, tiny-sized, petite brushes. They're perfect for everyday use and fit in my hand very well. I wouldn't want them to be any bigger.
