Questions & Answers for Guerlain Météorites Compact Powder

Question
Does this come with powder buff?
I'm so confused about this. I noticed that in the store the pressed powder had no powder buff with it. For those of you who ordered it online, did your powder come with powder buff or not?

This compact does indeed come with a puff for application. The compact also comes in a little velvet pouch for storage, so it will stay protected in your purse.

Mine came with the powder buff. I don't use it, however. I found that I didn't like it for application of the powder. It seemed to hold on to more of the powder rather than let it transfer to my face. I know that it seems contradictory, but I use a sponge that I purchased here and it works better for me.

It does come with a puff, but it's very
cheap one. It's stiff and thin.

I disagree with the person who suggested the Teint Rose; I am the same color as you in Dior, number 22, and Teint Beige works beautifully on me. This is not a higlighter so Teint Rose would only be for very pale, cool toned people.

Based on the foundation you're using I would recommend Teint Rose, however Teint Beige is also well suited for fair skinned girls so you can't go wrong with either one. I am also fair and I use both (not at the same time) I find that Teint Rose works best when I use it over my foundation (Hourglass #0 Porcelain) to set it and give it a silky finish. I use Teint Beige over moisturizer or primer alone for a bit more coverage.

Question
High- lighter?
I heard someone said this pressed powder is not for a coverage but only be used as a high lighter. Is that true?

This is NOT a highlighter. It is a finishing powder that is matte with a bit of non-sparkly radiance. I use it to touch up my oily t-zone and an all over face powder, it has light coverage.

No, that isn't true. I have used this powder over my foundation to set it, over moisturizer or primer for a natural look; and when used with a brush instead of the included puff it is buildable. It also smells fantastic.

Question
How does this compare to the 'ball' version of this ?
I absolutely LOVE this powder ! But I've already hit pan after two and half weeks - does the ball version of this give the exact same effect ? To get the same effect as using the pressed powder and powder puff - what tool would I have to use with the balls ? Would the balls work with the powder puff ? I prefer to pat on my powders to avoid disrupting the foundation and concealer underneath. Thanks !

I have both, and I think with the balls it is a little more of a radiant finish. The balls also seem to be more sheer when applied and you definitely have to use a brush with the balls, a sponge/puff won't pick up enough product properly. The balls will last you a very long time, even with repeated daily use, so they are a better value--but not as portable as the compact.

I did buy the "ball" powder and can say it is different from the compact. The compact provides coverage masking shine and absorbing oil; the "ball" powder only provides a sheer brightness to give you a "glow."

I prefer a little coverage so I was disappointed by the "ball" in that regard, but I use it to just set my foundation in the morning, but I probably won't buy the "ball" powder again. I did buy my third compact powder though.

And I use a powder brush - not a puff - for loose or compact powders. Hope this helps.

No, the loose Meteorites balls do not give the same effect. I love the loose Meteorites and use them as a finishing powder but they give a glowier, very sheer effect. They do not give coverage or the same blurred pores, shine control effect as the Pressed Meteorites compact.

I'm shade 117 in the MUFE HD Foundation and I was wondering which shade would best fit my skin tone.

You definitely don't want to use Teint Rose if your MUFE shade is 117, that foundation has yellow undertones and Teint Rose is suited for pink undertones. I myself am also MUFE 117, and Teint Dore is supposed to be for yellow tones, but it's way too dark. Maybe try Teint Beige, it's for more neutral tones and you might get away with it.

I would go with 02 , 01 is very light with pink undertones and 03 is pretty dark.

That's a pretty light foundation. You would probably like the Teint Rose. They all are pretty much invisible on the skin, but that would be the closest to you.

I am 115 in MUFE HD, and I also use Teint Rose.

I am dark skinned and I bought the #3 Dore because I was looking for a pressed version of the meteorite pearls. I initially thought it was too light for me but it acutally turned out great over my Diorskin nude 070, almost the equivalent of a translucent powder. It keeps me matte all day. Definitely a splurge but I absolutely love the final effect. The scent is fantastic. I do suggest you try it out first before buying it. I probably wouldnt use it by itself but i find it sets my foundation perfectly...for some odd reason. Love it!

There is no glitter or sparkles in this product. My bf HATES glitter (no sparkly anything......half of my UD naked palette is off limits around him) but he really liked this powder on me! It gives a subtle shimmer....makes your skin look like its glowing. Really its gorgeous! I was skeptical.....but its fantastic and totally worth the price.

I am light, with pink undertones, MAC NW20. So not quite fair, but certainly light. Which shade should I get? Will the lightest be too light or will the middle shade be too dark?

I am also not quite fair, but pretty light and I find that the Teint Beige color works very well with my skin tone. I almost went with the Teint Rose, but thought it had too much of a pink undertone to it. The Teint Beige is pretty close to being what some other powders consider to be "translucent".
