Question
Is this the same formula as the UD 24/7 eyeliner, in a chubbier pencil?
I have some of the UD 24/7 eyeliners, don't want to waste $ on these if they're the same.

answer 1
I have both Rehab and Underground and while they are sort of similar, they definitely are NOT the same - I like them both and wouldn't want either discontinued. I'm pretty sure some of these colors have been reformulated within the past year and that may be why a few commenters have said they are exactly the same but with different names. Maybe they really were the same when they were first introduced, but they definitely aren't the same now. I would recommend finding a store and swatching them -- or better yet, actually testing them on your eyes -- if possible, to get an idea of the difference.
If you can't swatch them in person, if you buy from Sephora you can always return it if you find it's too similar to another color you already have. For me, even a subtle difference in the tone or density can have a big impact on the overall effect, so it's worth giving them a quick comparison if you get a chance.

To me they feel the same, smooth and easy to apply. The shadow pencils are obviously more convenient if you want to use them all over your lid, as opposed to wasting 1/2 a regular liner each time. All of the colors coordinate to the regular liners as well, only the names are changed. Tip: the brush that UD sells specifically to apply it is not necessary. You can use any relatively firm eyeshadow or concealer brush to blend it.

I use both UD 24/7 liner pencils and shadow pencils and they do not feel the same to me. As smoothly as the pencils go on, the shadows seem creamier to me.

This is not a waste of money. I have both and use both frequently. I am not sure if they are the same formula, but they seem to be a little different. These pencils seem to be a bit creamier to make the transfer to the lid area much smoother than the liner pencils. Also, if you do it right away, you can blend them beautifully. I have tried to blend the liners with the same brush and it is much more difficult. Having that said, they both dry to a soft, smooth finish that don't crack or crease and stay for a very long time!

To me these seem smoother to apply and seem to have more pigmentation than some of the 24/7 liners. I've tried to use the liners as a quasi-shadow when traveling and they're a bit dry and thick when adding more layers. These feel a bit more luxurious when applying and feel light and airy (like no makeup) all day even though they look very dramatic.

Yes, they are the same - they might dry slightly slower. I use these as eyeliner and they work really well.
I have a bunch of their eyeliners but I'd still recommend getting the shadow pencils for an easy and quick eye look!

I don't know if it's the same formula, but the application is definitely not the same. It would be hard to get the same smooth and soft effects you can get with this shadow pencil using the liner. I think it's slightly different, slightly more powder-y. I've got both, and I love them both.

UD's website states that the formulas are the same, but just in a chubby pencil. The colors are different from the 24/7's, though. Try Rehab, it's gorgeous!

I think they are similar, but a little bit more on the creamier side than the liner pencils. The colors are a bit different too, almost like they made the shadows to go with and compliment the liners. For example I bought the morphine (light purple) Shadow pencil and pair it with the Lust (deep purple) liner. They compliment each other well. I also tried using morphine shadow pencil as an all over and the lust liner for my outer corners and then blended to make neat shaded look-though the liner pencil is a bit harder to blend because it sets even faster than the shadow pencil. Hope this helps!!

No, they are not the same. The shadow pencils are much more powdery, as one would expect from an eyeshadow product. I would compare them to the urban decay liquid eyeshadows which have dried down somewhat. The end product would be a pure powder pigment that is very slightly gel and wet, just enough to glide on your skin.
I think this product is superior to the liquid eyeshadows because the packaging makes it much easier to use and will not cause it to become inaccessible (dry in a tube).
