I have very dry lips. This treatment is very soothing. It helps lipstick glide on and stay in place throughout the day. I find Laura Mercier products are very reliable.

I found the product to be quite thick in consistency and difficult to get from the small tube. I prefer her lip protectant (comes in a lipstick-type tube) -- it's really great! It's hydrating and not sticky!

The product is very good and does a great job of smoothing and softening lips. Not greasy and stays on well. Only complaint, hard to get product out of tube.

It's great; I've used it for years now and I don't get chapped lips any more. I only apply it at night before bed.

The texture is like a lighter Vaseline-type texture. And I have been using at night and waking up to the softest, silkiest lips ever! You only need to apply a thin layer, so this will last a long time.

This stuff is AWESOME! I actually bought it from all the reviews on sephora claiming its the BEST for dry lips.. but somehow now there are zero reviews on it..?? In any case, definitely worth the money, and is the best I've tried yet for my super dry lips. I will keep this with me always! It rocks!

Emu Oil?
Is the "emu oil" in this product plant or animal? Isn't Emu a bird?

Emu is an animal product and Emu oil is an oil rendered from the fat of the Emu. The process for getting the oil is through the removal of fatty tissue from the emu carcass.

Try using some sort of an exfoliating/peeling product, with AHAs, BHAs, Lactic Acids, followed by a good moisturizer with ingredients that help to regenerate cell growth and/or plump, something with collagen/elastin. Do these at night, then use night SPF during the day. Hate to assume, but if you were/are a smoker - quit. I have done it, it's doable. You will actually see the difference in the quality of your skin shortly after. Good luck.

Ingredients list
I ordered this product and noticed the ingredients list on the container differ from the list online. Mainly, the first two ingredients listed on the actual box are petroleum and mineral oil, (which are not listed in the online ingredients). These are also the first two ingredients in $5 eucerin aquaphor healing ointment from the drugstore,,which I find to be a similar product. Has anyone else noticed this or tried both products? I'm trying to find a major difference.

I love Aquaphor, it is very moisturizing and healing, however, it does not remove dry chapped skin overnight like Laura Mercier lip silk.
I use Aquaphor in the summer, but have to switch to LM lip silk in the winter.

All on it's own - I doubt it. Best way to go about correcting those is by applying products with peeling ingredients, AHAs, BHAs, Lactic Acids, etc. She can start by something mild in strength (I recommend Ole Henriksen's eye peel, great for sensitive areas like lips) at night, followed by a good moisturizer, which could be this product. But I think you could find something better for this purpose, like a cream that has elastin/collagen. Then use high SPF during the day.
