Really and truly, this stains and lasts while moisturizing. It is amazing!!

It stains like a lipstick does, that is to say, the color looks like its wearing off, but it leaves a subtle (real subtle) hint that it was there. Just keep applying it like you would a balm (when your lips feel dry and after eating) and the color stays primo. Wipe it off at the end of the day for a nice blush.

Well, because it has nice moisturizing properties, it doesn't last a super long time. I usually blot it once and then when I blot again no colour comes off. It does have some staying power but you'll probably have to re-apply after eating.

No, it doesn't really stain your lips...it wears off and you are left with a faint tinge of colour.

i bought the white and it applies like a lip balm. it's very soft, not at all like a lipstick or stain. i think of a stain like a paint or a marker.. and this is definitely a moisturizing balm. the white applies clear and gives my already rosy lips a refreshing color and smooth finish. stays wet/creamy all day. doesn't dry. i recommend it, but this is not a stain. definitely a balm.

Yes, it stains your lips, not just a lipbalm or stick. They don't come off the color of the stick though. Skeletrina and Pink Martini come off magenta.

It only needs a two or three smudges to get amazing color but reapplication is required after eating. Other that it last all day, it smells so good you will want to reapply it though!

It feels and glides on the lips like lip balm, but give colour and stays on like lip stain. Usually lip stains dry the lips and this one is so moisturizing.

The color lasted me all morning but of course after lunch I had to re-apply. I did notice even after lunch the satin (I purchased Pink Martini) was still on my lips. It's a great purchase for those who like lip satins or who aren't afraid to make a lip statement ;)

I find It really depends on what you do. I wore the Pink Martini on a ski trip, applied it at about 6 in the morning and it lasted me till about 12 in the afternoon. I find the stain better for clubbing or going to an event rather then all day long, especially since you don't want to re-apply this. even though its a lip balm, it still drys your lips, and reaplication is not something I want to do. a trick to keep it lasting longer is to either apply a clear gloss on top once in a while or use a lip balm of choice that is also clear

Don't be fooled by the dark purple. It is a lip STAIN after all. It shows up a sheer, bright plum for me (I'm Asian). In photos, it looks purple/red. The more layers you put on your lips, the darker and more vibrant the colour.

On my hand in the store, it was a sheer purplish tone, which I liked, but when I got it home and tried it on, it was very bright pink. The color stayed pretty pink for a couple hours before wearing off. My skin tone is a lightish beige, with pinkish undertones in my face and freckles. My lips are a little darker than my face, but tend not to be that dark, so I'm not sure if that would make any difference in how the stain looks. It might be more purplish on darker skin.

It's a soft pink/plum... I wear it all the time.

I bought the Skeletrina shade since I was on a hunt for a dark, plum-like lip stain that wasn't more than 20 dollars. I tested it on my hand in the store as well, and wasn't too thrilled with the electric magenta result, but convinced myself that it would look different on my lips.

However, I'm sorry to report that this really isn't the case, and the color is possibly a slightly muted form of the bright magenta it appears on your hand. But then again, if only one quick coat is swept on, followed by some dark tinted gloss, it can look really nice, even if the result may not be exactly what you're looking for.

It's a very unique color. Kind of a brightened grape juice look, looks very pretty on my cool-toned, not very pigmented lips. I thought it would be too bright, but it's gorgeous. Makes teeth look white, stains a cool berry-pink.

It comes out magenta, as does the pink martini one. I like the Donutella one best for staining and Ciao Ciao for moisturizing (since it doesn't have a stain in it, it is more moisturizing).

If you own a chapstick, or burt's bees lip balm, pretty much ANY standard size lip balm, this is the same exact size as those. I don't have any simpler idea of how to describe it.

This balm's about 0.15 fl oz, or 4.2 grams. Compared to a Nieva balm (the ones in the stick form) which is 4.8 grams, you are getting a bit less. In Carmex, you get 10 oz so it actually is a tiny bit less.

The balm did not last that long for me, but the stain did last a while. I do not think it has any SPF either. I would recommend Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15. You could use this stain underneath the Fresh balm, as it is rather sheer.

As long as you don't take a kleenex to it, the color stays on well, I sometimes lick my lips without thinking about it, but when I look in the mirror it's right where it was before. It's not super moisturizing, and I live in a colder northern state so I get your problem. You should probably put a good moisturizing lip balm underneath it, and you'll be good.

I love the skeleterina color!
It lasts about 5 hours color wise, but I find the shine and moisturizer lasts about seven. However, if you layer it over lip line, like 24/7 lips pencil in Ozone from Urban Decay, it lasts as long as the lip liner does (closer to 8 to 10 hours).
I love it, but be careful, the color in the tube is much more intense the color you actually get. The purple skeleterina color is more like a cool magenta than a true deep plummy color, which is very flattering on my cool skin tones (and I think makes my teeth look whiter).

I live in Maine and it's really cold and dry there in the winter too. This is my favorite lip balm with color, I got Pink Martini. The color lasts a few hours which is great I think, and most importantly it really doesn't dry my lips, which no other lip color that I've tried can claim.

I did get the skeletrina and it's a sheer purplie/pink that you can layer for a darker color. Mine lasted through a spagetti dinner so the staying power is there. but you may want to reapply anyway because it's so smooth and very moisturizing

I saw it in the mall right after Christmas. I hope that Donutella isn't discontinued - it's the perfect shade of lip balm for me! Maybe if we complain enough???

The Lip Stain only provides a very slight hint og color. To my point of view, it serves me more like a lip balm than lip gloss. Therefore, I believe that it will make your lips look hourished with a little peachy without covering your true lip color.

lip stains are PERFECT for any skin tone! it gives you a nice perfect wash of color. a bit like how your lips would look like after eating a yummy Popsicle!

I dont think it will be too pink for darker skin. Its not deeply pigmented and adds a great hint of color. Medium shine so its not super high gloss. I am medium dark olive tone and usually pinks dont wear well with me. I was afraid to order but now am so glad I did. It feels great too.

I would wear the Pink Martini in a heartbeat. With a lip liner, the Donutella gives a great color. Both would be very apropriate and moisturizing to your lips.
