The Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm does not have a scent or flavor.

It has a bit of a taste, not really the best. But nothing unbearable.

You do not need to sharpen this product. The bottom twists up so that more product comes out!

You don't need a sharpener because the barrel is made of plastic and you twist the bottom to push up more product.

I don't really see the need for one. The silver part at the bottom twists to move it up, like chapstick.

supposedly you don't need to sharpen this, it rolls up like a lip balm, although after the initial uses, it will no longer have a "crayon" point. I'm afraid the surface will be too large to easily apply without a mirror.

I don't think so, but honestly, it doesn't need one. Yes, the pointed shape will just go flat, but then you just treat it like chapstick, and it isn't any harder to apply.

I guess you have to find your own. Sephora has a good array of sharpeners. They can help you find the right one.

No need to sharpen, you twist the body and more of the lip color comes up, just like a regular lipstick!

I love Black Honey almost lipstick too --- the Chubby Stick is more matte, less glossy. Coverage seems to last a big longer, but it is more dry. I sometimes put a light gloss over the Chubby Stick.

The Chubby Stick is more like a balm and the Almost Lipstick in Black Honey (which I am also a big fan of) is more like a gloss. They both cover equally well and both of them last on my lips about the same amount of time. The Richer Raisin color is deeper and more similar to Black Honey.

I think it probably has more staying ability (because it is not as moist as the almost lipstick). Anything glossy and moist isn't going to last as long. Maybe get the stick in a similar color and put the black honey on top.

for me the Richer Raisin color is similar to Black Honey, but with less pigment and much less shine. Lasts a bit longer than Almost Lipstick.

to best describe them... they wear like a chapstick with just more than a hit of color! super easy to wear...

Two very different products. This is as described, it is a balm. It has the texture and the consistancy of a lip balm but with color. Both are sheer in how much color is deposited but the formulation of almost lipstick is more as a gloss with lip color or a lip color with a lot of gloss. The Colour Balm is simply a balm with color. No slip of gloss, no texture of gloss.

It's not listed on the stick as having spf. I threw away the box but I don't remember seeing it say spf on the displays

No SPF. I'm glad of that since I'm mostly sensitive/allergic to make up with Sunscreen.

Nars will be more long lasting. The chubby stick goes on sheer with a hint of color. Nars will not be as moisturizing as the chubby stick though.

I have both and they are equally good products virtually no difference, except price and in that clinique is the better deal and they last amount of time.

NARS' Velvet Matte lip pencil would provide more of a stain, and deeper pigments, but none of the moisturizing properties.

The textures are a little different. This is a little more natural and slightly more emollient than the Nars, but if you want a better "made-up" look for fancy makeup, go with the switch.

Nars is a slightly tacky/high shine stick with deeper pigmentation. Clinique is a true balm type formula that is very comfortable with a sheen. Both totally different

I feel the chubby stick is much better than Nars. Nars is not that creamy and it does not last that long

Depends on what you're looking for, Nars is more dramatic and longer lasting while the chubby stick is more convenient (no sharpener required) and glossier.

I'd say more lipstick than gloss. It definitely has a bit of a shine, but not like lip gloss. It also doesn't have a thicker feel or matte finish like lipstick. Really it is more like a tinted chapstick. But, the color is just enough - fairly sheer and natural looking.

It is like a hybrid between lip balm and lipstick. (Think of it as a sheer lipstick.) It is a little bit shiny, but not as much as a gloss.

It is quite glossy but i think if you were to blot it, it could be a bit more like lipstick.

I'm always scared to take any of my lipsticks to a warm locale. (I had a Clinique lipstick melt on me once. I was traumatized! j/k) They have some great glooses though! I would recommend those.

Trust me... I live in texas and we've had record breaking heat this year. because this item it so sheer and not at all creamy like a lipstick, its like a very sheer lip stain and it soaks into your lips and so it definitely dosent melt off. i suggest pairing it with a colorless glossy balm like carmex to add extra hydration and a bit of shine, as it really dosent moisturize at all.

Yes it will melt. Protect it like all other lip sticks and balms. It is not quite as soft as the Fresh line but it will still melt readily.

While it won't melt on your lips, the tube itself will probably melt in the heat.

I have been wearing this while sunbathing poolside and it has held up very nicely even on the most hot & humid days! I just love it...but do not suggest keeping it in your beach bag as the heat will ruin the structure of this product. Apply before heading out!

If you leave it outside, possibly. I live in Phoenix, and received mine via UPS here in the summer, and it was very warm and a little soft when I opened my box immediately after it was delivered, around 6 PM, probably after spending most of the day in the UPS truck.

Absolutely. Do not take to beach or pool or barbeque. Its slightly re-formulated lip color just not in the old tubes.

I don't think it would look "trashy"; it comes out more dark pink than red...it's by no stretch of the imagination a natural color, although it works great over a lip pencil or lipstick. I wouldn't recommend it for school only because it is so short-lived. You'd be reapplying several times a day. Sephora has a generous return policy, though, so there's that.

No. Its a very soft natural red! Your lips will be a pretty subtle red, not a fire engine red.

It's the texture of a lip balm, so it gives good color but it's not dramatic like a lipstick can be or shiny like lipgloss. I have Chunky Cherry and it can definitely be layered to be as light or dark as you want. Doubt it would come across as trashy. It's not a dramatic color. Very natural flush to the lips.

The women & girls in my family range in color from dark brown to lily white, and in ages from 18 to 59, and this color is gorgeous on all of us. I haven't found a chubby stick color that isn't fabulous.

the chubby stick's are pretty sheer to begin with. they don't go on strongly or vividly. if you apply just one layer, it should be fine for every day wear and appropriate for a young lady like yourself. hope this helps :)

I find that these go on pretty sheer, so I don't think you would have a problem. Just don't overdo it--you are 16 and should let your natural beauty shine through! Red is an awesome color for everyone though and this is a great way to try red lips. Have fun!

Chunky cherry is not red. Looks great on Asian skin.
