I usually line the "v" of the inside rim, & part of the upper inside lid, and do the rest of my upper lid in a grey or brown shade. If you use black liner, then maybe only do the inside rim bc the contrast of the black & the brightener might be too much. How much you apply also depends on the shape of your eyes & what effect you want.

I have tried this product on both the upper and the lower eye rims just to see how it would look and I actually prefer to use it all around the eye. It adds an extra brightness when used on the upper rim (just be sure to blend it in with the upper eye lid). You will really notice a difference it brightness and radiance when you use it all around the eye.

It seems that it would depend on the natural color of your inner eye lids. This is a true 'nude'. It is undetectable and blends well. Unlike stark white pencils I have seen. I am caucasion with medium skin - dark hair and dark eyes.

I would say probably not... I am a tan olive complexion- sort of a lighter Mexican/Italian. On me it was almost looking too light. If I were any more tan it would look more like a white eyeliner than a brightened inner eyelid. It will look like you put light colored foundation in your eyes, if that makes any sense. I don't think you would like it. Someone needs to make another color of it for you!!

You can-- but if you put it on the waterline of your eyes, and then layer on another color of eyeliner then the two colors will probably blend. I tried this by putting EmphasEyes on the inner half of my lower waterline and then putting dark eyeliner on the outer halves of my waterlines. They ended up blending and then exiting through my eye's corner in the form of eye boogers ;)

you have to carefully blend the other, darker liner into your lower lashes, or just below them. that can be tricky if you don't smudge it. i bet if you practiced you could fit a line of the brightener closest to your eyes and then the darker one beneath it sort of on the waterline sort of in the lashes.

I bought the Tarte brand first. It stayed on well, but decided I did not like the nude/flesh color since I was used to putting a dab of pink eye shadow in the inner corners of my eyes. I ordered the Benefit pencil and have used only a few days. However, I love the pink color much better and can use one product in both places (tear line and inner corners). I need a couple more wearings to decide if the Benefit product is as long-lasting.
