I use dish soap and let it air dry. Works great.

After applying the tanning lotion, I simply pump some of my hand soap I keep next to my sink into the palm of the mitt, squish it around to foam, and then rinse it out. Because I do it immediately, the mitt comes completely clean, leaving no trace of the dark tanning lotion. I stick it over top of one of the handles on my tub to air dry overnight.

Soap and water works great! I just rinse it until the water runs clear. I leave it out and let it dry overnight so it doesn't start growing bacteria.

I just rinse my mitt under warm water with a little dab of hand soap on it. Seems to clean it well. Since its so light pink it is a little dingy looking but smells and works fine!

Warm water and a gentle hand soap then air dry! I typically use soap like BBW foaming hand soap and it does wonders!

The label says to soak and rinse in warm soapy water.

I wash my mitt with any soap I have on my counter in the bathroom. Sometimes facial soap and sometimes just a liquid hand soap. I put it over my pump of faux tan to dry after I wash it.

I use a bit of body wash or hand soap, with water, fold it in half and scrub together under a sink. Usually takes a couple minutes to get all the mousse out.

Just hand soap will work, or you can use the St. Topez tan remover (great stuff, by the way, and a little goes a long way!). I squeeze mine out gently, pat somewhat dry with paper towel, and put up on a bottle to dry.

I only use one mitt when applying the mousse (it's easy to switch between hands). But I would recommend buying a couple of them if you're going to be using it often because they are cheap and fall apart after several uses.

I bought two to have one extra in case (if one is wet after I've washed it). But you don't need one for each hand. As long as you apply in a well lit area, you'll only need one hand since the mitt spreads the mousse so evenly. Never tried the mitt with any lotions...

You really one need one mitt per application because you can switch the mitt from hand to hand when you need to. The mitten style (as opposed to gloves) makes it really easy to smooth the lotion (or mousse, I would suppose) on your body. The mitt doesn't slip around on your hand. I bought two mitts just in case one is still wet (from cleaning) when I want to tan again with a dry mitt. They're inexpensive so I believe my investment in two mitts was a good one.

easier to apply with the mitt than latex gloves. once you have the mitt you can do a comparison by using the glove for one leg and the mitt for the other you will see the difference, i reccommend buying 2.

I only use one mitt and it works great. I just switch it to my other hand when I need to. It is also very easy to use without fingers in the mitt. Hope this helps!

Interesting question! I use both of my hands as well but I found that just switching the glove to the opposite hand wasn't as hard as it seems. For $6 it wouldn't hurt to get another one and I am waffling over if I should get another myself!

One will do. Two would probably be hard to work with. You will put it on your dominant hand and maybe switch it over when you do hard to reach places on your back. It is not hard to use or clumsy without fingers. I thought the same thing- that it would be like wearing an over mitt -but it is not. It's hard to explain but when you use it you will wonder how you functioned without it.

I did fine with just one mitt and I usually use two hands, also. And no, it isn't difficult at all!

I would use the mitt with the lotion. I have both the St. Tropez mousse and lotion and they left my palms colored before I tried the mitt. It also makes the application quicker.

I use it to apply ALL types of self tanner; cream, mousse, gel, etc. Even daily moisturizer with self tanner. I just like the results I get over straight hand application.

i use the mitt for the mousse and i wear plastic gloves for the lotion. Your might be able to use the mitt for the lotion as the "smoother" at the end, but i wouldn't use it to apply

I only have experience using the mousse and I like the mitt. The mousse will stain your hands if you don't use it. I feel it also allows you to use less product and sweep it on evenly.

St tropez does stain your hands and nails. The mitt makes application so mug smoother and quicker. Even application with less work. Mitt is a mut in my opinion. I tried it once without it but a lot of reapplication to even it out and my hands were pretty stained from it. I had to scrub Whig in turn splashed water onto my forearms which lead to reapplication to even out. Mitt makes it easier

I use it for the gradual tanner lotion and it works wonderfully.

You don't need the mitt - it just helps apply the self tanner seamlessly and keep your hands from getting all black from the lotion.

I use the mitt for the St. Tropez tanning lotion. The lotion goes on really dark, so I'm thinking you would want to protect your palms.

The mitt is a must to save your hands. I expected some soak through, but there was none.

It is a spongy material about 1/8" thick on the palm side. The sponge is soft and not too much and it slides over skin very nicely.

the mitt is spongy. I buy three or four or five at a time and always have one on hand and reorder when I open my last one.

It is thin, very fine foam, so it is cushiony but smooth. Hope that makes sense! There is a plastic backing on the foam to protect hands because it is quite absorbent and would soak through. This does delaminate after a number of uses and eventually makes the mitt hard to control, I ended up for awhile ripping the plastic away and using a surgical glove on my hand under the mitt - that was o.k. too, but I really prefer it in its whole condition.

I just exfoliate really well and use very little on my face and neck. Usually with the mit after I've finished my arms with what's left over on the mit. Don't use much and it works great!

The mitt works perfectly fine on your face. Just make sure you buff in the product in circles and to get all the way up to your hair line and to get any spots if your head you will be able to see if you have your hair up in a ponytail or something.

Since the face is a smaller area I usually just mix the tanning lotion with a little moisturizer and apply it using clean fingers and wash them quickly afterwards. However, if you really dont want to use your hands a cotton ball works okay. I don't like using the mitt on my face because its been all over my body. Even if its clean, I still don't want to risk it.

No, I do not use this on my face. I go all the way up to my neck. My make-up matches/ blends with the tan. FYI some of my tan is natural, some i'll use one of the self tanners just to get that glow when I haven't been outside at all. If you don't wear make-up use a spray on for the face.

Yes, I use the mitt to apply to my face as well. I avoid applying under the eyes, but otherwise I apply all over the face, along the hairline, ears, and even behind my neck to ensure a natural, all-over tan.

I tried looking for something comparable and i couldnt find anything. This is a very inexpensive tool that helps you get the best out of the St Tropez self tanning lotion.

I prefer using latex gloves, like the ones that come in boxed hair color kits.
