It has a pleasant, mild smell. Not fruity or minty...vaguely herbal but just a nice, mild perfume.

It doesn't really smell much. It's pretty mild. I actually prefer the luminous shine bamboo shampoo/cond. because that smells lovely but this is nice too. There's definitely not a bad smell at all. I'm picky about that too.

Fresh and light! Maybe the tiniest hint of citrus, but it's super subtle. It's scent is a nice pick-me-up while you're washing/conditioning, but it's not overpowering when your hair is dried...so no competing with your perfume. I love it!

I know how you feel. I am really picky about how something smells. This doesn't have a strong scent to it. I can't really describe it but it's not over powering.

The scent is incredible!! Reminds me somewhat of Clinique's "Happy" (doesn't smell EXACTLY like it or anything)... I am the same way, doesn't matter how good something is, I wont use it if it stinks. This is NOT one of those products! Smells awesome!

Question
Smoothes?
Does "smoothes" mean "straightens?" Or is it saying it helps the cuticle to lie down so the hair isn't frizzy? I've seen it used both ways in different products, and I do not want to straighten my hair. I would like to get the frizz out, but I haven't found one product that can do that without flattening and/or straightening my curls. Maybe if I spent more $... . Anyway, this looks promising.

My hair has natural curl to it and if I don't flat-iron it after I use this shampoo and conditioner, it still curls just as much as when I use other shampoos. It doesn't seem to be a straightening product to me.

For me, this does not straighten my hair at all (it's thick and wavy.) It definitely helps calm the frizz. It also helps hair straighten easier, if you use a flat-iron...but if what you want is a product to ease the frizz, while letting your hair be itself, this is for you! I hope you like it as much as I do!

I have naturally wavy hair, the longer it gets, the weight makes it straighter, but I know what you're asking and it didn't do that to my hair. I conditioned it and used a leave in plumper and my hair seemed thicker, soft and happier than ever..try the little travel kit, all of the products in it are actually useful. The oil I leave in my hair on a hot day and let the oil condition it in the heat.....
When I wash it out, it already is conditioned so it takes less conditioner, detangler and masque to do the job.

I have the same needs. This product did not fill the bill and was doubly disappointing due to the price. I prefer Fekkai Protein RX shampoo and conditioner. It does the job well and not too pricey.

I have just a slight to medium wave in my hair and, after using the shampoo and the kendi oil, but not the conditioner (still using my Revlon Smooth Down), I still have a nice wave in my hair and it feels very bouncy - not weighed-down with gunky product.

Yes, this shampoo is the best I've ever used on my curls. I don't use the oil, because my curly hair is a little more to the fine side, but I use the shampoo, conditioner, and styling cream.

Yes, it's a sulfate free cleanser. I'd recommend using the conditioner, Kendi Oil and an anti-frizz styling product with it. No shampoo on earth will leave thick textured hair frizz free. You just roughed up the cuticle by washing your hair. You need conditioner to add moisture and smooth the cuticle, and a styling product to seal the cuticle. The oil helps me when applied mid shaft to the ends prior to the stying product.

Hello! I too have thick, LONG, wavy/curly hair. I purchased this because I had had a keratin treatment done. However, its left my hair SO SOFT that I'd like to think that I would leave my curly hair super soft as much as my newly straightened hair!

I have the same hair, long, thick, natural and wavy and this stuff softens and thickens and hydrates. I love it.
I don't end up with straight hair, it is light enough toaccentuate everything naturally beautiful in our type of hair.

I found that the Caviar had too much protein for my hair and caused it to feel dry and damaged where as this one leaves it soft and smooth.

It makes my hair noticeably shinier and smoother, but after a few weeks of use, my ends began to dry up. It also smells fruitier than the Caviar Moisture shampoo.
