Questions & Answers for Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray

Question
Is this really moustirizing?
My skin is really dry and mid-day starts to feel parched, especially during our dry Arizona winters. I'm searching high and low for a spray that will actually moisturize (most of the ones I've tried are basically glorified water) and not muss my makeup. Is this the spray for me?

I don't find it to be moisturizing at all, nor does it give a cooling sensation. I've SWORN by the "Dew Me" mist for the past couple of years- it totally changed the way I thought of makeup, as it allowed my makeup to last all day. I was devestated when it was discontinued, but I bought a bottle of this "Chill" spray prior to my last bottle of Dew Me running out. I don't care what anyone says- they are not the same product. "Chill" makes my face itch when I apply it, and my makeup is super spotty 3 or 4 hours after application- it looks horrible. But when I use Dew Me, it looks perfect throughout the day and night. I'm SO disappointed in this Chill Makeup Setting Spray.

I don't feel that it moisturizes it, but it does feel refreshing when you spray it on and your make-up stays on all day. At least mine does. I started using comfort on call and moisture surge by clinique and that has really helped, in a huge way, for my dry skin.

I would say not. In the NJ cold/dry winters, my skin needs ALOT of moisture, but I'm certainly not getting it from this. It will set your makeup without drying it out, but will not add moisture.

It could help a little. But i'd say your best bet is to invest in a good moisturizer and face primer. Also you're foundation might be drying out your skin. MAC fix + is a good refresher. But remember it isn't a setting spray so it wont help with making make-up last longer.

Totally for you! I live in NYC and the wind/cold/urban conditions are brutal for drier skin types. I also take allergy medicine which adds to my dehydration. I have tried 3 other brands of setting sprays and this one delivers for skin like mine. Finally! i was using a water-type spray too because I couldn't find anything else that would give me the moisture I needed through the day. I had to use it every few hours and lug it around in my purse. Now I am just using Dew Me in the morning and then heading to work for the day. My face looks dewy without shine all day... and the bonus is my make-up holds up too so I don't have to touch up. LOVE THIS product!

Dew Me vs All Nighter?
What is the difference between Dew Me and All Nighter? Which would you recommend for over 55 year old skin that is dry? In particular, I want to create a more dewey look on my dry skin and avoid the cakey powder bronzer look that I tend to get during the winter. Thanks for your help!

I've used both products, and while they're both effective, the 'Dew Me' product tends to make skin slightly more oily in humid weather or in warm settings. Both products are effective at holding makeup in place, though.

For your skin type, I would suggest Dew Me. I have tried both, and dew me gives a much glowier, dewy finish to your skin. I apply this mist before putting any makeup on and then after I finish all of my face makeup (bronzer/powder/foundation/concealer) and it looks flawless and dewy.

I would not use this - it has alcohol 39, that irritates your skin, causes damage to the eyes, skin, and is hazzardous if breathed in (to your nervous system etc). I use Laura Mercier finishing product - the dewy one not the mattifying one (non spray) but am also trying a dab of aloe vera.

answer 5
They do the same job. The only difference is the finish. The finish on the All Nighter is just neutral. It isn't matte. If you have put on dewy or sparkle makeup it will preserve the work and reduce the ''finger prints'' of your work. Dew Me does all that but it adds a dewy texture to your makeup. I love it because the dewiness reduces the texture that my makeup adds. I usually think that I look better with matte finishes because I am in my 40s however this finish does not age or add unwanted texture when the light hits your skin. It is great stuff. I love it. For a younger person it will give you a radiant glow you might want or might not want for an older person it is just fabulous. I can use more sparkle and more glimmer with Dew Me than I can without it. You might think the opposite but you have to experiment with it to see. Use it on your made up hand at the store before you buy. That is what sold me.

I have tried them both. However, my favorite is Dew Me. I like Dew Me because it is so moisturizing and it sets the makeup perfectly. It's very light weight. Both products are, but I feel that Dew Me was more moisturizing to my dry patches on my face. I have not had a problem with my makeup not staying in place for the entire 10 hours that I work. Plus, I don't have to apply more makeup throughout the day. I hope this helps.

Dew Me is a much better product for controlling the dry look you can get from powder or mineral foundations or finishing powder. It holds your makeup beautifully and moisturizes.
All Nighter is great for younger skin but doesn't moisturize as well as Dew Me...I have older skin, my daughters use All Nighter so I have used both and Dew Me works better for my older skin.

Though I haven't tried the all nighter I would recommend ths product if your skin is at all dry like men is in winter. I get the same effect from bronzers in winter and this makes everything look a bit less cakey and dry. Btw, I wore it to a Zumba class and my makeup stayed in place, if that tells you anything. It never feels tight either.

I have used both Dew Me and the All Nighter. However, I have yet to find one that moisturizes my skin and sets my makeup, EXCEPT DEW ME. I use this with or without makeup and it gives me the moisturizer that my skin needs to last the entire day and maybe the next. I will use Dew Me when I don't have my moisturizer. I work 8 hours, and when I come home, my makeup looks awesome still! The only thing that may need to be retouched is my eyes. So if you have oily eyelids like I do, you might need to spray it another time in the middle of your shift, but if not, I'd say you probably won't need to at all. My foundations, bronzer, and blush all stay on beautifully for hours.

This product will be beneficial when used with any type of foundation. But you'll have a greater "dewy" effect when you use a liquid foundation that does NOT set to powder. That type of formula already has a dewy sheen to it, so the spray will add a boost more.
Over a powder type will add a smaller amount of the effect.

This may be the one for you. Make sure you apply to this your neck also. Pay close attention to those parts around the jaw line and don't worry about spraying too much. Spray enough to cover and allow to dry. It takes a few seconds. This should help locking in your makeup so it won't get on your clothes.

Protect your makeup by placing a headscarf over your face before you pull clothing over you head. Match your makeup to your skin tone so you have less makeup where your clothing meets your skin. This product doesn't seem to stop makeup rubbing off, just keeps it from wearing off if you don't touch it.

I think it depends on the type of foundation you use. I usually have oily skin, and use Bare Minerals' Oil Control Primetime primer and their READY powder. The combination of the two really dries out my face and makes my look seem chalky/powdery. Dew Me remedies that by adding the right amount of moisture without over doing it. If you are using an oil-based foundation on top of having oily skin, would imaging adding one more "moisturizer" would make you more oily.

Hi, I use this product and hope my answer helps you. This is NOT a powder replacement. The setting spray is just to keep all your makeup in place for longer hours. Spray a little bit after all the make up were done, you will see a little difference that the make up stays true to its color for longer time. I only use this when I have time, usually I don't tho.
