Through and through plastic, the mirror is the only thing adding weight and it appeared to be glass when I touched it.

Yeah, I think it's metallic-painted plastic. BUT it is pretty sturdy, and you can't really tell unless you're actually holding it.

No not really, but is does leave alot of finger smudges, but thats coming from someone who uses this as a makeup mirror.

Yes. I hardly use it. I only bought it to add to my Hello Kitty collection. I really adore the Swarovski mirror better.

So far this has not scratched. And it is used EVERYDAY. My 2 year old plays with it when I'm not looking and it is still in mint condition.

Is cadmium used in this mirror?
Is cadmium present in this mirror, or anything else in this Hello Kitty beauty line? The description does not say what the mirror is made of, except that it is "shiny" and "metallic".

Hmmmm not sure if it has cadmium, but it's made from plastic. It seems like it could scratch easily and lift the shiny material.
