how do you select right color

I use Hourglass Veil liquid foundation in shade #2 and don't know which color to choose in Guerlain. Also I am thinking about ordering the primer and wanted to know if it had any color in it and if it is a heavy or light weight primer. Do you recommend this primer? I like a natural glow but not a shine.

I can't advise you on shade because I've never used Hourglass. But as to primer, you really don't need one with this foundation. It dries to a beautiful matte finish while giving you a radiant glow at the same time (zero shine)! I don't even need powder anymore (and I used to be quite oily by the end of the day with other products). Guerlain Lingerie makes you look like you have naturally gorgeous skin and it lasts all day!

Hi, i had the same dilema after getting mine, i would suggest you go with beige clair because it has neautral undertones. which is my shade aswell. ;D

What is the best way to apply this, and how much ? I need to mix two colors to get a better match, so one pump of each? Use my fingers or a brush or a sponge like beauty blender ?Use a primer first, a powder after ? Two coats of this ? I'm too critical of myself, so I prefer others advise. For the most natural finish(like skin), I use my fingers to apply this. No streaking, even finish. I find half a pump sufficient for my face,but, this may vary. Hope it helps.

I have black hair and I'm definitely not fair (some people say my skin gets olive-y in the summer). Beige Cream is perfect for me, you sound like the Beige Natural or Beige Moyen to me. It depends a lot on the undertone, sometimes the slightly fairer shade is better if you're between shades, unless it "dulls" you down by creating some greyish undertones. I'm not sure if this helps...

I wear Lancome Teint Idole Ultra in Buff 3 (N)...

What shade would work best for me in this? Sephora doesn't have my shade in stock in the Lancome, and it is frequently out (in local department stores as well. Also - the Lancome sometimes makes my pores appear larger, so I was wanting to try Guerlain, but I don't know what shade to try. As far as my skintone, I would guess neutral undertones, light around the edges, red splotches on my cheeks but medium everywhere else. It is so uneven, I don't think it has a real "tone". LOL!

I was hesitant to buy the lightest shade but seeing as how we're coming up on fall/winter and the other reviews hinted at some of the shades being darker than expected, I went for it. Unless you are big on sun, 02 should work

I would go with 01 - it is hard to find, but it's available online. If you can't find it the next would be the 02. But personally that was too dark for me. Just a guess since I'm pale with yellow undertones, your skin sounds similar.
