The pads are 2 1/4" diameter. One side is smooth and the other slightly quilted with gentle ridges that can be used for holding onto the pad or flip it to your skin and use it as a light "scrub" to help remove your make up.

It's probably about 1.5-2". You can get a lot of makeup with just one pad off. Even when I have a lot evening makeup on I have never gone on to using 2 of these pads. THey get a lot!

Are the edges crimped together?

I am looking for the same high quality cotton rounds as what Q Tips used to make. Their cotton rounds were softly quilted on one side and plain on the backside, and the edges were crimped together like they were sewn. The cheaper cotton rounds do not seal the edges and so the cotton comes out all around the edges, and they somehow always stick in my eyes. So are these edges sealed?

The two sides are the same as what you are looking for (plain and textured) but the edges are not scalloped. However, I am on my 5th sleeve because they do NOT come apart. I could only get store brands here and was not happy with the quality. I recommend Sephora's.
