Questions & Answers for SEPHORA COLLECTION Sugar Body Scrub

Question
How does this compare with Fresh's brown sugar scrub?
I've heard how amazing the Fresh brown sugar scrub is but this looks to be about the same and for less than half the price. If they're basically the same, that would be great!

Short Answer: Definitely Sephora over Fresh

Long Answer: So I had debated a lot whether to try the Sephora Sugar Body Scrub or Fresh Sugar Body Scrub. I decided to try Fresh because I love their Brown Sugar Face Scrub (Amazing!) and it was more expensive and therefore the better product right? Wrongo!! The Fresh body scrub was way too abrasive. The granuals are too big and I felt like there wasn't enough oil and therefore the granuals didn't melt into your skin as you rub like they do with other scrubs. It felt more like rubbing sharp rocks on my body. No bueno. So I returned the Fresh and asked the sales associate for help and she actually discouraged me from getting the Sephora brand but I couldn't help thinking that it seemed perfect cause there was more oil and smaller granuals. So I tried it and I am so happy that I did. It is way better than Fresh's Body Scrub in my opinion and much cheaper so it's a win win. The only down side for me has been that it made my chest break out, my chest and neck are super sensitive so I don't use it there anymore. It has been amazing for my arms though. I've always had those little bumps on my arms that drive me crazy but when I use this and put on lotion afterwards I don't feel any bumps. I haven't found anything else that has given me those kind of results so I love it. Also it smells wonderful which makes the experience complete in my book.

This product is not as good as the Sugar Body Scrub; but it is good for the price. I would definately get the Sugar Body Scrub for a good exfloation.

I have bought both and this is the better deal. If I was richer (I'm a student), I think I'd splurge for the Fresh but this stuff has better scrubbers and the scent is just as good. It smells good even after you're out of the shower and your skin feels nice and moisturized. Definitely try this.

I tried that in store and honestly they are almost similar. The brown sugar scrub has a lighter smell but when it comes down to it they are pretty much the same!

This is as close as you're going to get without spending $40 for a tub of it. The Fresh scrub has larger sugar granules in it, and has more oil, but honestly I like this just as much, and is definately more worth it for the price

I would say this goes above and beyond the Fresh scrub, the reason I had tried the Sephora brand was because I had gotten the Fresh scrub last summer and loved it, but couldn't justify spending as much this year... now I'm in love with this scrub and find the smell even better than that of the other brand!!!

This is so much better than the Fresh Sugar Scrub. The Fresh Sugar Scrub is so oily I had to clean my shower when I was done. The Sephora scrub is just as moisturizing, but they must use a water soluble moisturizer. It has a similar "lemony" fragrance.

IMO, this product has a very light scent, very subtle.... I was a HUGE fan of the Sephora Brand of their Body & Bath collection & 'always' used all the products in the almond coconut for loved the scent being so subtle, yet it was there...... Unfortunately, they recently discontinued all in that line & am now using this body scrub, which I find to 'almost' as lovely as the other & perfect in the light scent for you can use your fav' body butter after........ Not abrasive & leaves skin sooo soft... I think you'll like it, I know I do......

the smell is almost non-existent and it certainly doesn't last. if i had to describe it i guess i'd say a very faint hint of chocolately burnt sugar. nice but very subtle.

It smells like lemon cake frosting, but not a fake lemon smell. A true natural lemon smell. The sugar in the scrub mixed with the lemon smell is what probably makes me think of frosting.

It will feel oily at first right when you use it but it's not an overpowering feel. The oil is absorbed quickly into the skin after showering. Works great, I have nothing bad to say about it!

i agree with kirabunny in that it's not oily in the way you would think. it's so silky it may feel oily, but it doesn't leave a greasy residue/ feel at all.

my sister, who is really picky about what she uses on her skin, used this (after much nagging from me) and even though she wasn't in love with it, she said it made her skin feel soft. no complaints of oily skin and her skin is more oily than anything.

my skin is actually more dry, so i like to moisturize if my skin is feeling like it needs extra hydration, but i love this stuff and would recommend it to anyone.

It feels a bit oily to the touch after application... but its not like you would normally think of oily. It is almost like a "sheen" if you catch my dirft. It's nothing unbearable nor anything that would oil your clothes. I LOVE this stuff and would recommend it!

I wouldn't use this scrub on my face, I generally have sensitive and fussy skin but I've haven't had any problems using it on the rest of my body. The scent is very light and it uses sugar as the exfoliator so if you have dry or cracked skin it wouldn't sting. I would double check with your dermatologist about excema just to make sure you wouldn't aggravate the condition.
