If you are allergic to most facial creams than this isnt for you. I love this moisturizer BUT i dont have sensitive skin. This cream has fragrance and if you are sensitive should try something fragrance free. I recommend the Cetaphyl brand. Its sold in drug stores and is formulated for people with very sensitive skin. I dont use Cetaphyl because I dont need it but its excellent for people with your type of skin. Good luck! and avoid fragrance in your skin care, thats probably whats irritating you in the first place!

I have used Sephora Instant Moisturizer for several months without any problems. In fact, I developed a dry spot from a different moisturizer with retinol and that cleared up right away. I too have extremely sensitive skin and get aong well with the product. That said, if you are having tremendous problems, do seem a dermatologist. She may be able to help a great deal. Print out the ingredients list and take it with you.

This is a great product, but may be a little heavy for you. In all honestly, if your skin is very sensitive I would check out the Clarins site here. Their products are so pure, so organic, you could probably use them on a baby. My husband has completely stolen my post-cleanser Soothing Face Tonic and is using it as an after-shave. He straight-up told me that I'd have to buy a new bottle for myself! Clarins products really work, too. But you have to use them faithfully and give them a few weeks to really start seeing results. You could always go to a Clarins Counter, get a consultation, find the products that will work safely for the results you want; then come back and order them via Sephora! Sneaky, I know. But a girl's gotta' do what a girl's gotta' do! Good Luck!

So far, I've been using the Instant Moisturizer for a couple weeks and have had NO adverse skin reactions. My skin is sensitive to most products on the market. This product is great at hydration and is very affordable. Sephora's web site states it is a non-comedogenic product, which seems right to me after using this product often. (Clarins makes great products for sensitive skin also - the first products I tried about 10 years ago that did not make me breakout or irritate my skin.) Good luck!

You can get a sample in store, if you ask an associate. Though I really wouldn't try this if I were you, it's got a ton of stuff in in that irritate my skin, and mine's not even that sensitive. I think this, and nivea, are probably on the same level of like quality or whatever where the ingredients are super cheap and icky for your skin in the long run. And they actually have quite a few ingredients in common! Like alcohol, phenoxyethanol, carbomer, etc. Hope that helps a little lol =)

I'm not aware of being allergic to any creams, maybe slightly sensitive to heavier stuff, but the sephora instant moisturizer irritated my skin. It became itchy and dry after about two hours of wearing it, even though it felt nice and lightweight when i first put it on. So...not sure if it would work for you. I would get a sample first.

I'd say your 13 year old daughter could definitely use this. The ONLY negative (and I mean only) is that there is no SPF in it, but if she's using makeup or powder with an SPF then this would be perfect for her. It's not too perfume-y, and it's light consistency actually made my skin much less prone to breakouts even when I'm sweating (and at 13 I'd say she's at that age where you actually have to start worrying about that!) It really makes your skin feel smooth but never greasy.

I think it would be perfect for a 13 year old, not too heavy or greasy--just a light nice moisturizer--even if it does say wrinkle fighter in the tag line. Although it does not have a sunscreen, I would perhaps sample one that did to start protecting her skin now from the harsh UV rays.

I don't use tons of it on my face but I don't skimp either...check with the company.

Question
Instant Moisturizer or Clinique Dramatically different?
Right now I am using Epiduo, and plexion cleanser which is sulfur based. And plus the winter weather is drying out my skin severly. I've been having to skip my cleanser and Epiduo for one or two days because it gets so chapped and dry. Which moisturizer would be best for me? I think. Would like this one because it brightens, and the Clinique one doesn't. Which one would be better for my skin? Thanks

Clinique's brand can't even compare with this. and also, Clinique has an ingriedent (a fruit Acid)that dries your skin out, so it makes you want to apply more. I use to work for the Estee Lauder company and if you are older than a teen Clinique is not fromulated for you, so move on! This one is Paraben free Sulfate free and how can you go wrong for the price point. Try it for $20.00 what could go wrong.

OK, this is coming out of left field b/c I'm going to suggest something that's not Sephora OR Clinique. I had a similar problem a few years ago; after having a massage at a spa, I looked at their skincare products. I chose an Aveda cleanser and moisturizer. It was the simplest thing I've ever done that yielded such great results. I grew up on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, so I saw A LOT of sun. I just started to notice some pigmentation problems and dryness and sensitivity; the Aveda product really came through. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact name, but the cleanser was a pump and it had a thin creamy-like consistancy. I was worried that this would break me out, but it never did, it just felt wonderful, plumped my skin up a bit more, and didn't iritate me at all. The second (and final-how easy!) step was simply applying the moisturizer. Both these products were fromulated for sensitive skin with slight kin discoloration. The moisturizer has some light-reflecting properties and the two produuct together took care of a very larde dark sppot on my cheek in about a month and a half. I hope this helps!

I have used both Clinique and Sephora brand moisturizers. I would recommend the sephora brand. it moisturizes by dry, flaky skin very well, but it doesn't make me break out. i have very acne-prone skin. Also, i think the sephora brand continually moisturizes better than the clinique one. whenever i put the clinique one on, it stings my skin. i also have to add jojoba oil to the clinique moisturizer to add hydrating properties, something i never have to do with the sephora brand. and the sephora brand smells AMAZING! hope this helps

Hey, I am actually using epiduo too and I can say it's not a gentle medication cream. It does dry you out. Well, first of all I would like to say stop using your so harsh cleanser and use a gentle one to help your face retain some moisture. Secondly, I do recommend this moisturizer for the summer because It does help moisturize the skin and it's light enough for the summer. It also isn't greasy at all. I am using (Fresh's Say Cleaner) both as a makeup remover and daily cleanser. ( It's super gentle and its filled with antioxidants and help retain moisture) If you have any scar I recommend (PTR laser resurfacer). I have been using it for a month and really helps with the scarring. I'm pretty sure you will have large pores being acne prone (use Caudalie's elixir toner) It really helps energize and tighten up your pores. If this moisturizer isn't good enough for you def try (Philosophy's serum capsules) You will see results instantly. I hope this helped.

Sady, it doesn't. :( BUT - I would still recommend it! I, too, have fair-medium skin and understand the lifetime need for sun protection. I just simply apply the spf of my choice (Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen - 40)....and it goes on smoother, just as lightweight and there's no negative interaction with the products. IM is so transparent and absorbing - your skin would welcome several more product layers without feeling greasy or heavy.

I have very dry skin that becomes oily if I don't moisturize enough. I have to use a light daily exfoliate - either Aveeno, or just a wash cloth with warm water. Then I use a heavy vitamin E moisturizer at night and Sephora Instant moisturizer during the day. The instant moisturizer absorbs quickly, and doesn't feel oily. As the day goes on I notice a little oil on eyelids if I'm not wearing an eyelid primer, and on the tip of my nose. Otherwise, it is nice all day.

I have sensitive skin and this product hydrates really well without causing breakouts or feeling oil at all - it absorbs quickly and feels great in the skin. It's only $20 and you get a pretty big jar (compared to most skin care products, even those you can find at Walmart or Target that cost more). It's just for hydration only - no anti-aging ingredients from what I've heard, but Sephora also makes "Age Defy" with SPF15 (haven't tried that yet). And according to their product details on Sephora.com it is non-comedogenic, which seems right based on how my skin did not experience any adverse effects.

I have a super oily nose and forehead, with dry cheeks and an acne prone chin. Usually, I have to apply powder and/or use a blotting sheet throughout the day, no matter what primer/moisturizer I use. With this moisturizer, however, I've found that my nose doesn't become the normal oil slick. It does get a little glowy, but nothing noticeable. This sounds like it would be a great moisturizer for you! Also, it smells amazing, and hydrates the other parts of my face well.

No SPF is in Sephora's "Instant Moisturizer" (according to the jar and a Sephora in-store employee), but this new skincare line by Sephora has a product with SPF that uses these same ingredients along with some additional anti-aging ingredients (costs a bit more though). It's called "Age Defy Moisture Cream" (has purple ink on the jar)...
