Dior DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Crème-Gel Makeup SPF 20

What it is:A breakthrough gel-to-powder foundation packaged in an elegant mirrored compact. What it does:The first gel-to-powder foundation in the DiorSkin Nude range, this formula offers unique sensory pleasure, making application addictive. A network of extremely soft waxes traps mineral powders in a compact form. Upon application, the melt-away gel glides over the skin and transforms into a silky powder for rapid, foolproof application resulting in a complexion that's velvety smooth and flawless. What else you need to know:Energizing Mineralized Water added to the formula using a new process heightens its effectiveness. Water microdroplets bond to powders in order to concentrate the beneficial minerals. On application, these ultra-concentrated microdroplets are gradually released and then energized on direct contact with the skin for optimal assimilation. The formula acts like a moisturizing and energizing cocktail that progressively diffuses its benefits helping the skin look more beautiful and radiant with continued use.

I prefer to use my fingers - or the Hourglass 2 foundation brush. Your fingers applies a very light application..the sponge and layer it on too thick for me. I then santitize it by spraying it with 99 percent pure alchohol or putting in freezer (I freeze all makeup creams and liquids that touch air or my fingers all of the time - that kills all germs...)

APPLY WITH A FOUNDATION BRUSH OR I JUST USE THE PUFF THAT IT COMES WITH THAT WORKS TOO. I AM ALWAYS IN A HURRY IN THE MORNINGS SO I ALWAYS APPLY ON MY WAY TO WORK WITH THE POWDER PUFF THAT IT COMES WITH. ITS GREAT SETS FAST SO THAT YOU CAN DO THE REST OF YOUR FACE WITHOUT WAITING. LOVE IT!!!

It comes with a sponge that has two different surfaces; the package insert explains how to use it. Application is very quick and easy.

I used a large, flat foundation brush to apply large quantities of product, smoothed it out with the sponge it comes with, and then sprayed some MAC Fix+, and blended out problem areas with my fingers. It's kind of high-maintenance, but I think it's worth it.

I am also very acne- prone, and sadly this product did not work for me. Within 2 days of use, this product caused me to breakout around my chin & forehead. I knew this product was the cause because it was the only new addition that I added to my routine. I am sad to admit this because it really is a beautiful & unique product. Maybe it was just my skin though, and it might work out better for you. Everyone's skin reacts differently. I would highly suggest getting a sample from your local sephora store just to see how your skin will react to it.

I have oily skin and found that this initially caused me to break out. I think that it could cause additional break outs if you don't apply it with a very, very light touch!

answer 3
I wouldn't use this product if you're acne-prone since it does have slight moisturizing qualities to it although I believe it is oil-free. You're probably picky (and should be!) about what moisturizer you use, so you might be better off with a powder foundation.

I AM ALWAYS BREAKING OUT BUT SINCE I HAVE STARTED USING THIS I NOTICE MY FACE HAS REALLY CLEARED UP. THE BEST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER USED FOR ACNE IS MAX CLARITY AND ITS CHEAP. I ALSO USE THE CLARISONIC BRUSH. THAT HELPS EXFOLIATE ALL THE DEAD SKIN CELLS AND WORKS WITH ANY CLEANSER. TRY IT YOU WON'T BE SORRY. GOOD LUCK.

No it is very perfumy and strong and it doesn't go away. I got headaches and I strongly believe it's because of the perfume that my pores got clogged and I broke out with acne pretty bad.

Covers pores well, but could emphasize a bump if you don't put powder overtop. Has a more dewy finish than matte.

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW IF IT EMPHASIZES PORES/BUMPS YOU CAN ALWAYS TRY IT AT THE STORE. THAT'S WHAT I DID PLUS YOU HAVE TO TRY IT TO MAKE SURE IT MATCHES YOUR SKIN TONE AND YOU CAN ALSO SEE IT YOU LIKE THE WAY IT FEELS ON YOUR FACE. ANYWAYS SEPHORA HAS A GREAT RETURN POLICY SO YOU CAN ALWAYS RETURN IT IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS ON YOU. GOOD LUCK BUT I AM SURE YOU WILL LOVE IT. I AM VERY PICKY ABOUT MY FOUNDATION/MAKEUP AND I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS.

just from my own research, it seems to emphasize dryness....on that same token I personally have found that if a makeup emphasizes dryness...and it is supposed to be moisturizing...my GUESS is that it would emphasize anything depending on skin tone of course (i have fair skin, i have no secrets!)

For me, it lasts from 8AM to 3PM no touchup needed. I use this by itself with no primer or powder. I just bring blotting paper with me to blot throughout the day, but I don't think you need to set it with powder (unless you want to).

I dust a tiny bit of translucent powder on my t-zone after application just in case I am a bit oilier at the end of the day, but honestly this is probably not necessary. I don't put powder on my cheeks, which are normal/dry and this makeup lasts forever - until I take it off before bedtime. It's awesome.

Question
How long does compact last?
Hi! I usually use Smashbox Full-Coverage, but I'm looking for something that doesn't look so cakey and winter blah :) I'm debating on this or the Laura Mercier Creme Smooth. The reviews for the LM rave that a little goes a long way and lasts for a long time. How long does one of these Dior compacts seem to last? Thanks!!

Dior, lasts on your face a long time, and a little goes a long way so you could keep this product several months, depending on how much coverage you need. Great for oily or combination skin.

I love Laura Mercier products, and a little does go a long way. However, I believe that the DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Creme-Gel makeup looks a lot more natural while at the same time providing excellent coverage. If you're going more for heavier makeup, go for the Laura Mercier. If you like a lighter more natural look, go Dior! I've tried and love both, but my skin is oily so I stay away from heavy makeup (the Dior works very well with oily skin). Just a matter of preference. :)

Ive been using my dior compact for over a month now and Im pretty sure I wont need to replace it until early april. I usually get a solid 2 months supply out of other foundations so Id be surprised if I ran out any sooner. Having used LM and Dior, both products go a long way when working in small quantities.

I bought this three weeks ago, and I've used up quite a bit... which is a little disconcerting. I spent a lot of money on it!

I almost never wear foundation, but I really enjoy using this one since it's relatively lightweight. I've never (regularly) used any other foundation, and I picked this one up on a whim.

Considering how infrequently I use foundation (once every two weeks?), it's tough to determine, but seeing it after about 5-7 uses... it will not last very long.

I have extremely oily and acne prone-skin which is very sensitive to any new product. I have not had a single breakout with this product and the few "hormonal" pimples I get are completely covered by this makeup. Everybody's skin is different, but after years of disappointment when looking for a smooth makeup with good coverage I am so happy to have found Dior DiorSkin Nude Crème-Gel Makeup! Hope you love it as much as I did, but even if you don't Sephora has an awesome return policy!

I loved the way this foundation felt on my face as soon as I put it on however, I did experience somewhat of a film that seemed to be on my forehead after a few hours, I have combination skin with the occasional break out. I cleanse with a deep pore cleanser daily, I use a serum by chanel for anti aging, a fairly hydrating moisturizer by 3lab and shame to admit it but I rely on my sunscreen to be in my makeup I know, I know..it's an awful thing so you can imagine my relief to see that this sleek beauty had an spf 20 right in her. I truly thought this was going to be my it foundation as we are going into the dry hot fall of AZ but I just couldn't get past the residue that was left on my skin and the coverage that seemed to illuminate my pores. I think this product would be gorgeous on someone of mature, dry skin or if you don't ever have a blemish :)

I'm an NC15 and the 020 was just a bit too dark for me and I had to exchange it in-store for the 010. It was just a shade or so too dark so the 020 SHOULD work for you. (If not, Sephora's return policy rocks!)
