It's the best that I've found...I have stubborn straight lashes as well. From what I hear, a heated eyelash curler would be better, but this is less expensive.

The eyelash curler works great. I hold it for 20 seconds before I put the mascara on. On some occasions, I will hold it on again for 10 seconds after I put the mascara on. I don't do that too often though because I don't want to break any lashes. The curler and mascara is fabulous.

My old eyelash curler was the Sephora one and it was a good product. However, I almost like this one more. It's more comfortable with the little rubber bumper and it doesn't get my eyelid caught up in it when I'm in a hurry.

I would definitely go for the Tarte one...I've used the Sephora one just cuz it was supposed to be a dupe of the Shi Uemura lash curler that's so famous for short, straight, Asian lashes but I didn't this the Sephora one even held it's own in that category. The Tarte one is really easy to work with, it didn't pinch my skin (which is a common problem with me), and the rubber was made with quality materials and not cheap like some lesser brands. I'd go for it!

I've NEVER had a problem with smudging or melting or flaking with this product. I wear it on both my top and bottom lashes too. I heard great things about this one so I tried it even thought I usually use waterproof. I heard the original LCL was better than the waterproof one called Lights Camera Splashes since the original gave more volume so I tried it and fell in love. I'd recommend it!

answer 4
I have issues with mascara's melting, especially since my eyelashes are kind of long and thick at the outer edges of my eyes, and my eyes water a lot, and my skin around my eyes is on the oily/moist side.
This mascara is the first where I did not have any issues with it creating any kind of mess throughout the day. It stays put. However, when I've slept with it on it didn't create scary raccoon eyes for me like just about every mascara I've ever used before, it just looked like a light greyish smudging under the eye, like how you look when you're really tired, barely noticeable, really,, it's nothing too horrific where I'd be too afraid to answer the doorbell or anything.
It's buildable, very very black, and leaves lashes flexible. I haven't experience clumping, what I have experienced was amazing application where my lashes looked so perfect they almost look like falsies - it's so unreal. It truly is the best mascara I've ever used.

For me, this mascara NEVER clumped. It goes on lightly and fluidly and dries super fast. Because of the quick dry, it allows you to build up more and more layers VERY easily. I've never found a mascara I liked until I tried this brand. It's definitely worth a try.

The mascara was really good at giving more volume to the lashes but on the bottom lashes they started to flake, but only after a really long day. This is still a great mascara but if I were going to be gone from sun up to sun down I would choose a different one. For every day work, it is great.

You can do it either which way. It doesn't really matter. I have really long lashes already so what I do is curl them first then put my mascara on, wait until it dries and curl again. This makes them look extra long and almost fake, even though they are my real lashes. Hope this helps.

answer 5
I would definitely curl first, then apply mascara second. BUT since my lashes are notoriously stick-straight and downward-pointing naturally, this is my morning ritual to keep my lashes sky high:

Tarte Lash Curler
Shiseido Mascara Base
Let it dry for minute or two
I usually use a primer, then let it dry for a minute or two
Apply Tarte Lights Camera Action
Let that dry
Apply a fiber mascara just to the tips for extra vavoom (Fiberwig)

After this dries completely it usually stays all day... but if you want an extra push you can curl (lightly) in the middle of the day. NEVER curl your lashes while your mascara is still even a little wet. It will be to sticky and sometimes pull your lashes out! I hope this helped!

I always use the curler both before and after mascara. 'Before' is kind of like a primer, getting your lashes ready; and 'after' just defines the color some more and takes away some clumpiness.

answer 8
You first hold the curler on clean lashes for a few seconds. Then you apply the mascara.
;-)
If you do this the opposite way, you're going to get mascara allover your curler and also kind of "glue" your lashes together... you don't want that...
