The climate control gel might be to heavy for your hair. I use the conditioner in the shower, rinse, and then apply it again after I get out, but before I wrap it in a towel. After that I use a very small amount of the gel in the areas that look a little flat. Hope this helps.

My stylist recommended smaller clips for wavy hair (I am a 2b) and they've been working great. She puts them in from the top, going against how the hair falls and pulls up a bit. This way, it's easier to remove them when your hair is dry. Try using the botanical boost to de-crunch your hair after it's dry.

Ouidad has a website with videos posted on how to use most of their products. Try that, it should help. I had the same issue with the included directions, they are vague aren't they?

Try the Ouidad website. I think there was a Q&A about the gel that addressed the crunchy feeling. There are videos and lots of info about curly hair.

If your hair is extremely dry I would recomend also using the 12 minute deep treatment conditioner. The clips you should turn on their side and run them straight back along your scalp line, if you have a hard crunch top layer you are using too much product, less is more with the gel, the conditioning is what keeps the frizz down. The quidad website also has tips and VIDEOS! good luck!

I was in your same situation. I have wavy hair that never looks good enough on its own, so I either have to straighten it or to curl it. When I first tried these products, I absolutely hated them. Now, I can't imagine using any other brand of curl enhancers. First, I gave up on the idea of following the rake and shake instructions completely. I just couldn't ever do it. I just clip my hair into min-buns, and I have lovely waves. Also, I was using way too much product originally, so my hair looked crunchy. I only use about a quarter-size drop of Heat and Humidity gel through my medium-length hair, and that's enough for me. You shouldn't use very much of the Moisture Lock after washing your hair either, or it will look greasy. Last, try going directly to the Ouidad website for styling tips. They have a section where you can identify your type of curly hair to pinpoint exactly what products you should use. They also have great instructional videos and other tips to make your curls stand out.

after i have washed and towel dried my hair i use the moisture lock and comb it thru my hair, then i use the gel work it thru the hair with my fingures, then i strunch my hair and clip it all over and let it dry, if i am in a hurry i will use the blow dryer while the hair is clipped to speed up the drying process, remove the clips, shake and go.
