Guerlain Shalimar Eau de Parfum

The queen of exotic Oriental perfumery, this beautifully feminine fragrance is an everlasting classic. Its voluptuous base of powdery, sweet vanilla embraces warm notes of incense and amber. Opulent and tenacious, the seductive appeal of Shalimar endures.Today, Jade Jagger, the English artist, jewelry designer, and socialite, has reinterpreted the celebrated Shalimar bottle. As she would carve a precious stone, Jagger formed the cap into the shape of a fan, adding a glamorous modern touch to the iconic flacon.Jagger's subtle update comes to an unchanged fragrance of timeless beauty. In the 1920s, the tale of a true fairytale romance inspired the fragrance's creator, Jacques Guerlain. The love between an Indian Emperor and his cherished wife, Mumtaz Mahal flourished in the beautiful gardens of Shalimar. Devastated by her untimely death, the emperor built a mausoleum that would later become one of the great wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal. Touched by this beautiful love story, Jacques Guerlain created Shalimar, the world's first Oriental fragrance.Notes:Bergamot, Powder, Iris, Vanilla, Amber.Style:Voluptuous. Warm. Sensual.

answer 2
It has nothing to do with the reformulation. The notes listed are the ones that are obvious. Different formulations/concentrations like perfume and EDT bring out different notes.

I believe that Guerlain has reformulated Shalimar many times over since it's creation in 1925; the difference listed here on Sephora might just be an error, or it could be a listing of the current formulation.
The fragrance notes of original Shalimar are; Bergamot, Rose, Vanillin, Civet, Musk, Incense and Jasmine.
They are forever tweaking and changing Shalimar, but if you want to experience the true incense, animalic, vanilla beast that is Shalimar; I'd recommend vintage perfume. Hope I helped!

Similar to Obsession by Calvin Klein?
I was wondering how similar this is to Obsession by Calvin Klein because the reason I am even interested in this perfume at all is because someone told me that if I like Obsession I will like Shalimar. I am 22 now but I have been wearing Obsession since I was 17. If people think Obsession is old -ladyish then I will ignore the repeated 'old lady' reviews for Shalimar, because I just love the smell of Obsession!

I have worn Obsession, and I would say they are in the same family. However I think it's closer to Opium (another of my favorite scents).

I do not think you would like this- it's a very old school fragrance- I think it's too old for me and I'm probably your mother's age. Try, instead. Shalimar Initial EDP or for an even lighter and younger version Shalimar Initial L'eau. The latter one I think you may like, but it does have some citrus notes. If you do not like those the Shalimar Initial might be better. It's an oriental fragrance like Obsession. By the way, Obsession was my favorite when I was your age, too.
