I loved the philosophy Candy Cane body wash that I purchased last year (its still available at Sephora), and I was wondering if this is the same product but in a different container?

Yes, it is the same product. Candy Cane hasn't changed at all over the past seven years I've been using it, except perhaps slight formulation changes (they've been working to get rid of parabens and sulfates--this used to be just a body wash and not a 3-in-1 until last year, when it was deemed acceptable for use on hair).

One year - this is the 2010 version compared to the 2009 version. To me they smell the same, although the 2010 version is much stronger and more refreshing.
